London Marathon Training Update

It’s been a while since my last training update so I thought it was about time that I wrote a quick update. In my last fundraising update, which you can read here, I was excited to be able to tell you that I have now reached my fundraising target of £1,600 for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. My last actual training update was back in September. You can read it here. In this post I expressed concerns about being injured. I was due to run the Cardiff half marathon in October and although I was pretty sure I’d be… [Read More]

London Marathon 2019: Another Fundraising Update

Fundraising It’s been just over a month since my last fundraising update so I thought it was time to write another update. In my last post I shared with you how I’d managed to raise £976.50 towards my £1,600 target for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. Since my last update I have managed to break through the £1,000 mark! I have now raised a total of £1,242.42! That’s 77% of my target, and means I have just £357.58 to go! So here’s how I managed to raise more money: £5.14 – Online donations £4.00 – Selling things £256.78 –… [Read More]

What we did this week!

Cefn Onn

This week has been a funny old week! Sunday started out lovely. We went for a fun family walk to a local country park and had such a great time. Our girls loved walking through the forest pointing out funny looking trees, collecting sticks and running around! They even had a splash in the water! We didn’t actually realise until we got back to the car, but our little walk had taken a total of two hours! It’s no wonder the girls said they were tired! After our walk, we spent the rest of the day at home and my… [Read More]

Nursery School Update

The girls have been going to nursery now since the beginning of September. To read how their first day went click here. In the run up to them starting nursery I was really anxious. They’ve always been looked after at home by a family member. They’ve never been away from mummy and daddy, and they’ve never been to a nursery. I take them to play groups and we have play dates, but I’m always there. I really didn’t know how the girls would settle in, but I’m pleased to say that they’ve settled in really well! My husband and I… [Read More]

Sleep Update at Three Years Old

When our twins were born back in 2012 they slept like little angels for the first six months.  As soon as their first tooth started to come through sleep went out of the window. They went from sleeping in their own cots every night, all night to waking up frequently every night, all night.  We tried many different things to try to help them to sleep. Crying it out didn’t work because I couldn’t go through with it for longer than a minute or two, but at the same time holding them, cuddling them, rocking them didn’t help either because… [Read More]

Updating your spring/summer wardrobe

It’s always an awkward phase I feel. That time in between winter and summer known as spring! One day it’s lovely and warm with a pleasant breeze, the next it’s raining and blowing a gale like nobody’s business! freedigitalphotos.net/gualberto107 It can be hard to decide how to dress in the mornings just by looking out of the window or opening the front door to ‘feel’ how warm or cold it is. In winter I stick to boots, jeans and jumpers, long-sleeve tops and cardigans. In summer I like to wear sandals, dresses, vests and skirts. The thing is with spring,… [Read More]

Weight Loss Update: Week 8

I hoped that I would be starting this post in a better frame of my mind.   I’ve only got myself to blame and I should have seen it coming really.     I haven’t exercised again this week. Yes, I still have a cough, but my cold has gone now.   The first week of my cold I genuinely couldn’t have exercised because my chest was so tight.    The week after I still had a cold, but I was well enough to exercise. I just used my cold as an excuse not to.   Food wise this week…. [Read More]

Weight Loss Update Week 7

To read my last update, please click here. I can’t believe it’s been seven weeks already. It doesn’t feel like it! At the beginning of my weight loss journey I weighed 11st1, which meant that my BMI was 25.64. Now, seven weeks later I weigh a healthy 10st5 and my BMI is now within the healthy range at 24.1. This means I have lost another 1lb this week! I know it’s not a massive loss, but I have a cold still which has meant that I haven’t been able to exercise again this week. However, I am still eating well and… [Read More]

Weight Loss Update Week 6

To read last weeks post please click here.   This week has been a much better week compared with last week. Although I still have a cold which has meant I haven’t been able to exercise again this week as I’m quite wheezy, I have been pretty much on track food wise.    Last week I gained 1lb, but I’m pleased to say that this week I have lost 1lb! My new current weight is 10st6.    I’m definitely feeling better than last week, so this week I hope to be back on track with my exercise. I’ve been really enjoying… [Read More]

Weight Loss Update Week 5

To read my last update, please click here.   This week has been quite tough. I’ve been full up with a cold and wheezy chest, which unfortunately has meant that I haven’t been able to use the cross trainer and exercise bike.    I never thought I would ever say this, but I actually missed exercising and I did attempt to exercise, but within minutes I was breathless and even more wheezy, so I have given it a miss this week.    That being said, although I couldn’t use the cross trainer and exercise bike, I have been using my weights… [Read More]
