I’m Emily, also known as Twin Mummy. I’m married to Nige, who is also a blogger at DIY Daddy.
In April 2011 Twin Daddy and I embarked on our IVF Journey and we are very happy to say that as a result, we now have beautiful twin girls who were born in February 2012.
After 27 days in special care and neonatal intensive care, we finally brought our daughters home. It hasn’t been an easy road. There have been ups and downs, good times and bad, but through it all we have been there for each other and what we have experienced and shared together has made us stronger. It’s cheesy, but true!
I started this blog back in June 2012 and since then I have won ‘Best New Blog’ at the Wales Blog Awards 2012. I have been nominated in two categories in the MAD Blog Awards 2013: ‘Blog of the Year’ and ‘Best Baby Blog’. I have been interviewed on the radio about my views on breast feeding and I have also written a number of product reviews and guest posts.
Our blog was also nominated in five categories in the 2014 MAD Blog Awards: Best Baby Blog, Best MAD Blog for Family Fun, MAD Blog of the Year and Best Craft Blog.
There are many reasons why I started blogging. The first reason is because I wanted to share our IVF experience with others who are either thinking about having IVF or are currently having IVF. There is a lot of information around about the facts and figures of IVF but I thought it would be good to share our experiences so other people can hear first hand all that it entails from someone who has been through it.
The second reason is so that I would have a place to capture all the exciting and important milestones our twins reach. Don’t worry though, we’re not perfect! As well as all the good times, we also share with you the hard times and believe me there are quite a few!
As well as writing about our IVF journey, we will also share with you our parenting journey and we’d like you to share yours with us too. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
I have always had a passion for writing, so this blog is a great way for me to express myself and all my many thoughts and views!
I hope you enjoy reading our blog x
