Sleeping Update
Things haven’t been great lately with regard to the girls night time sleep. Their daytime naps are fine. They still have a 30 minute nap at 9am, followed by a 90 minute nap after lunch, at 1230pm.
Night time, however, has become harder.
Both girls would wake more or less within an hour of us putting them in their cots and we would spend quite some time getting them back to sleep again by rocking them, only for them to wake half an hour later.
Twin daddy still ends up on the sofa with R every night and I have resorted to bringing M into bed with me, which helps her sleep but means I get no sleep as she fidgets so much. I keep telling myself I’ll get used to it and hopefully M will too and become less fidgety. I can dream, can’t I?!
Anyway, we tweaked our bedtime routine slightly. Instead of holding the girls in our arms until they were asleep, after their milk, we decided to put them in their cots as soon as they finished their bottles.
This does seem to have helped a little as so far since starting this, they usually sleep until 1am. R is always the one to wake first and you can guarantee that within half hour of R waking up, M will be awake too.
So, now we need to try to figure out a way to encourage them to sleep in their cots all night, unless you have a magic potion?!
