Tips to Help Bloggers Overcome Writers Block

I’ve been blogging for almost five years and up until now I’ve been fairly lucky in terms of thinking of things to write about. I’ve never suffered from writers block. I always manage to think up things to write about. Sometimes it might just come to me when I’m drifting off to sleep, walking to work or even whilst I’m mid-conversation with someone. When I get an idea I tend to jot it down on the notepad of my phone as soon as possible so that I don’t forget it. I have a terrible memory! Aside from writing reviews and… [Read More]

Oh My Blog!

Oh My Blog is a monthly interview series, where fellow bloggers come together to answer a series of questions on a specific theme. This is a chance to get acquainted with a whole range of bloggers, some of whom you may not have heard of before, and learn a little more about them! This month, the theme is Mums (because it’s Mother’s Day soon!) and we’re hosting Becky from Mommy & Rory. 1. How long have you been a mum? Introduce us to your children I’ve been a Mommy for just over a year. My little boy Rory has just… [Read More]

Why a Blog’s Design Is More Important Than You’d Think

When it comes to blogging, the most important thing is the content…right? Well actually, while the words you right are of course important they’re not the only thing people will be looking at when they click onto your blog. A nice layout and beautiful pictures will help to entice the reader, or at the very least won’t put them off, so they go elsewhere! Here’s why your blog’s design and the way it looks on the page is more important than you might think. Survival tips for keeping your blog alive when on holiday

It’s probably the last thing on your mind when on holiday, but some bloggers, like me, who post every day, aside from the occasional weekend, like to ensure that their blog continues to run normally even when the blogger themselves are on holiday. It’s not essential. You don’t have to blog whilst you’re on holiday. In fact a break away can be a great way to think up new posts and gain some new inspiration, but that doesn’t mean you have to leave your blog content empty. Scheduling posts and social media posts is a great way to ensure that… [Read More]

Top 10 Interior Design Blogs for 2016

If you’re looking for interior design inspiration, there’s no better hunting ground than blogs. The bloggers, often design journalists or stylists, have done all the hard work for us, sourcing the best of new ideas and products around. They range from slick blogs by top designers and magazines to more eclectic collections written by people with a passion for home interiors. Some of these are very practical and budget-conscious, while others are very much high-end and aspirational. Clever Clicker have compiled the top 10 to take a look at, whether you’re looking for the latest trends or just some ideas to brighten… [Read More]

One Lovely Blog Award

This post has come off the back of both The Determined Housewife and Messed Up Mum as they both nominated me for this. The idea is that you thank the people who nominated you, so big thanks to The Determined Housewife and Messed Up Mum. Then you have to share seven facts about yourself, then nominate five more bloggers for this award. Here are seven facts about me: 1. I’m an identical twin 2. I have non-identical twin girls after my husband and I conceived via IVF 3. I have over 20 tattoos and really want another 4. I used to… [Read More]

Vlog Hop Linky

Vlog Hop is a new linky that myself and Ickle Pickles Mummy from The Little Life of Ickle Pickle will be hosting on a fortnightly basis. We’re both fairly new to vlogging and even though I have done a few videos on my You Tube channel I still feel like I have a lot to learn. Ickle Pickles Mummy has also created her first vlog the other day too so we’re both keen to learn more about vlogging. The idea of the Vlog Hop is quite simply to link up your favourite vlog that you’ve made within the last two weeks…. [Read More]

Back to basics – Writing freely again

I’m quite a reflective person in private. I think about things a lot. Things that probably don’t matter anymore, but still have a bearing on my life. Many people probably wouldn’t think about these things. The past is the past and all that. To some extent I agree, but there are certain elements of my past that I can’t forget. Before I go into more detail, I feel like I need to take a moment to tell you a few things. When I started blogging back in June 2012, I did so anonymously. This was for a number of reasons,… [Read More]

Lady in Liguria

I came across a blog recently and I love it so much that I wanted to share it with you too!  Anneka blogs at Lady in Liguria and writes about her experiences of long distance love, finding happiness and living between London and Liguria.  Thank you Anneka for letting me share your blog. Lady in Liguria I did everything they told me to do.  Everything that was programmed into my consciousness for ‘getting on in life’, which I assumed at the time meant happiness.  I worked tirelessly at school to achieve top grades, secured a Masters degree and landed a job… [Read More]

International Blog Swap Day

A few weeks ago, the lovely people over at TOTS100 invited some bloggers to join in with an international blog swap with Australian Parent Bloggers.  I was teamed up with Kylie and here is her post to introduce herself and her blog to you! Hi There!  My name is Kylie, but you can call me Kylez. I blog at Kylie Purtell – A Study in Contradictions, which is something my Mother called me once. I figured it was a good name for a blog because that’s what I am, a total jumble of contradictions! I’m an early 30s Mrs & Mum… [Read More]
