Six ways to make money online
As a mum who works part time I like to find various ways to make money. I like to think I’m quite entrepreneurial, so when you add that to my passion for creativity and my thirst for learning new things it makes me pretty determined!
Before I had children I worked full time, five days a week, but I also had a few other incomes including selling a particular brand of make-up door-to-door. I love earning my own money and being able to provide for my family without having to rely on anyone else.
After the birth of our children, I enjoyed a wonderful year of maternity leave before returning to work for two days a week. The change in income was hard to get used, but we managed. Being a mum, working part-time, taking the kids to nursery, playgroups and playdates, as well as running my blog leaves little time for me to go out and make money which is why I’ve turned to making money online. It’s super easy and needn’t be complicated.
Here are 10 ways in which you can make money online:
- Making and selling your own products. This is something that I delved into shortly after our twins were born. I rushed in headfirst and didn’t really think it through, but it turned out to be a good learning curve. I didn’t research my market, who would buy my products etc, but most importantly I didn’t source my materials for the best possible price nor did I take into account how long it would take me to make each product. Selling things online is easy, but you have to do your research first. Whether you’re selling on eBay or via your own online shop make sure you do your research first. For instance, if you were to set up your own supplement business, you would want to research Blister pack manufacturers so as to package your product to both look attractive and maintain the product quality.
- Bingo sites – As well as being a fun way to pass the time, bingo sites can also earn you cash back. Of course it should go without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway. Please be sensible when playing online games such as bingo and know when to quit. A simple online search can show you which cash back providers will help you get some cash back on top of your winnings.
- Paid surveys are a great way to earn a little extra with minimal effort. One of my favourite blogs to find out some good online paid survey sites is From Aldi to Harrods.
- I mentioned cash back above, but did you know you can earn it from your doing your everyday shopping online. Whether it’s your food shop or a new top that you want, signing up to cash back sites can help you earn without having to make much of an effort.
- Make the most of your skills and hobbies. If you enjoy ironing, why not offer your services to your local community? If you like dogs and have some spare time you could consider dog walking. If, like me, you enjoy growing your own fruit and vegetables you could sell any excess products that you won’t use. It’s better to go to someone who’ll use them up than wasting them. I know this isn’t an online service, but by advertising online, in Facebook groups etc you can reach a much wider audience.
- Write an e-book. You can find guides online which can you help structure an e-book. With a little practise you can promote it online via social media too.
