The future success of children is extremely unpredictable. We often have no choice but to support them in whatever direction they wish to the best of our ability. That said, we can often see very soon in their lives what kind of person they will want to be, as personalities tend to show from a few months old, if you haven’t already guessed it from their parents. There’s even been a lot of controversy in the past few months over whether baby names can decide their social status and success, after Holly Willoughby rowed with Katie Hopkins over what she considered ‘lower class names’. Luckily, this was dismissed by most, but we can still offer children support in what they want to do, and you can even do it as early as at their christening. Here are a few personalised gifts whichever career path they may take in the future.
Future Celebrity
If coming from a family of divas, actors or extravagant souls then they may end up on the stage, or even the screen in the future. It might take them a while to get their name on the Hollywood walk of fame, but in the mean time you can get them a smaller one to have fame close to their heart for a few early years. The personalised star of fame can have any name and a few extra details, depending on what imaginary film they could be in.

For those in touch with their emotions you’ll want to give them space to keep all their sentimental trinkets, while keeping it small enough to make sure they don’t cross that close line of hoarding everything they see. Things like a Mother of Pearl Trinket Box will give them that space and be something precious to hold on to for a long time.
Scholar
If they are born into a house of books then it’s likely that the child will be making a good dent in the bookshelves in the years to come, leading to at least a few letters after their name. Whether that’s a BA, MA or a PHD, they’ll need an encyclopaedia to kick-start their knowledge.
Adventurer
We’re advancing in technology so fast that it’s always fair to assume that we’ll be flying round in bubble cars by the time they’re older, but if they’re the adventurous type then there are a few options, whether they’ll be scouting the Sahara or be something more along the lines of Buzz Lightyear.
A pirate ship money box will let them know of the places they can go, and let them save up some pocket money for the travel costs (it might take a while if they have big plans).
If their eyes are set slightly higher up than the horizon then the stars are a good place for a christening gift. There are now a number of options to name or claim things in space, but this one lets you name a star after the little one, showing them just how far they could go.
