Cardiff to London in a Day for under £20

I live in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. It’s a wonderful city with plenty to do and see, but sometimes I want to explore the sights and attractions of other cities around me.

One of those cities is London. Did you know that you can travel from Cardiff to London in a day for under £20? 
Not only that, but when you’re there you can also visit a number of free attractions making your entire day out a bargain at under £20!
If you do fancy spending a bit of money there are also plenty of paid-for attractions too!

You can travel from Cardiff to London via Megabus for just £15.50 (price accurate as of today). The journey will take a total of three hours and fourty-five minutes from Cardiff to London. 
To make the most of your £20 budget, I’d recommend bringing a packed lunch and some snacks for the journey there and back.
Whilst in London you can visit a number of free attractions including:
Hyde Park

Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London. It’s divided in two by the Serpentine and the Long Water lakes. It’s home to the famous Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain, as well as speakers corner and it covers 350 acres of land.
National History Museum
If for nothing else other than the dinosaur exhibition, the National History Museum is a must-see for anyone visiting London! It boasts a collection of the biggest, tallest and rarest animals in the world too!
Science Museum

Located in South Kensington, the Science Museum has exhibitions which covers all areas of science and technology. There’s something for all the family from space travel to underwater worlds!

Tate Modern

Sat on the banks of the Thames, the Tate Modern is home to the national collections of British art and international modern art. The Tate Modern is the most visited modern art gallery in the world. Did you know the Tate Modern used to be a power station? Interesting fact there for you!

Abbey Road Crossing

Made famous by the Beatles when they used it for their album cover, tourists have been flocking from the world over to have their picture taken here. Travel tip: Arrive early for a crowd-free picture!

    Nice post – £15 on the mega bus and that in itself would be a star attraction for my little one 🙂 It really is very easy to have fun for free in London. This reminds me of going with my mum. We would go on the coach from Oxford and take our picnic too. I loved it!
