2014 Summer Holidays
I realise it’s only just turned 2014 and yes I know we’re only in the second week of January, but I’m already planning ahead and thinking about where to go on our summer holiday!
Last year we took our girls on their first holiday, thanks to my mother in law who kindly paid for us all to go to Minorca. This year, we won’t be going overseas as we’re trying to save a deposit up for a house, so we’ll go on holiday somewhere in the UK.
I’ve been having a look online and a few places have taken my fancy.
Devon was the first place I looked at. It’s not too far by car and I’ve seen some lovely child-friendly holiday cottages available. You’ve got the beaches, countryside and shoppng centres so there is something for all us. I really like the idea of farm holidays as our girls absolutely love animals.
Somerset also appeals for a number of reasons. Again it’s a seaside resort so you have a beach, but you also have wooky hole caves which I know has a softplay area for children among other child orientated activities.
The Isle of Wight has a seaview wildlife encounter which I’m sure the girls would love, along with a zoo. Plus there’s water sport activities for us adults!
I’m already working on my beach body with my new diet and exercise regime so I’m hoping that as well as weighing less than I do now, I’ll be a lot more toned than I am now too. I did wear a bikini on holiday last year, but I didn’t feel very confident wearing it.
I want to be able to go on the beach on holiday and not worry about my wobbly bits, because hopefully I won’t have any!
Talking of swimwear I’ve seen a cute range of swimwear for girls online and instead of using their swim jackets this year, which can be a bit bulky I think we’ll invest in some float suits. Float Suits are ideal for new swimmers in 2014 and I’m keen for our girls to learn how to swim.
You never know they could be the next olympic swimmer! M certainly loves the water! First thing in the morning after having her breakfast, she’ll start undressing and making her way to the bathroom! Once in the shower, she stands right under the water!
R loves the water too, but she doesn’t like getting water in her eyes and she hates it when I try to rinse the shampoo out! I have do it super quick!
Going to back to holidays, last week I actually looked online at how much it would cost to take the girls to Disney, Paris when they’re older and it’s not as expensive at I though it would be. That’s a long way off though!
Hopefully when we eventually buy our house, we’ll be able to start holidaying abroad again!
