Unusual Wedding Venues

Twin Daddy and I got married in January 2012, exactly 43 days before our twins were born. It didn’t us long to plan our wedding and within two to three months everything was set. We were engaged for around a year before we married and I love the fact that although our girls weren’t born, they were at our wedding! Twin Daddy and I always planned on getting married and I really wanted to get married before twins were born. I wanted the same surname as them!

Twin Daddy and I got married in our local registry office and we had an amazing day. There was lots of laughter, happy tears and celebrations. We had a small wedding which consisted of family only and it is a day that I will remember and cherish forever. Although our wedding was in a registry office it was in a beautifully decorated room and we had our photos taken in the pretty gardens behind. I have seen some rather unusual wedding venues in my time and Wentbridge House Hotel is one of those.

Wentbridge House Hotel

The main building of Wentbridge House Hotel has a fascinating history. It is Georgian and dates from 1700. Set in 20 acres of gardens and grounds in the village of Wentbridge, this hotel has a licence to hold outdoor weddings in Yorkshire and it also has a stone folly exactly for this purpose. The hotel has 41 individually designed and decorated bedrooms, a 2 AA Rosette fine dining Restaurant, a stylish and contemporary Brasserie and elegant function rooms for up to 130 guests.

As mentioned above the Wentbridge Garden Folly is a unique feature at Wentbridge House and it is licenced for civil marriages and civil partnerships, giving you the wonderful opportunity to enjoy your ceremony outside in the lovely gardens.

The Garden Folly is ideal for both small, intimate and larger outdoor ceremonies and it stands in the shadow of a beautifu beech tree. The Wentbridge Garden Folly is one of the only outdoor civil wedding ceremony venues in West Yorkshire.

Just from looking at the picture above, I can imagine how beautiful and memorable your wedding pictures would be. The Folly looks stunning, as do the surrounding gardens. It looks like such a romantic venue and the idea of an outdoor summing wedding sounds wonderful.

Wentbridge is a picturesque little village in West Yorkshire. It gets its name from the Great North Road’s bridge which straddled the River Went. The location of the hotel offers guests easy access to a number of popular destinations.

Are you getting married? Have you planned your venue already?
