Gray & Willow Rope Laundry Bin Review

My husband and I are the kind of people that believe if it’s not broken, then don’t fix it. As such we’ve had the same laundry bin for the past 10 years. Although the lid is broken, in fact I’m not actually sure when we last saw the lid nor used it!    Our laundry bin is plastic and looks pretty dull and boring. However, it serves its purpose well so we’ve never really thought about replacing it. I guess it’s not the sort of thing that stands out in a bedroom, so I don’t really tend to notice it!… [Read More]

The Cost of Moving House: A Handy Calculator!

My husband and I have moved house more times than we care to mention. When we first moved in together, we rented a small two bedroom flat that was on the second floor of a block of flats. It served it’s purpose well, but I did miss having a garden. We had a balcony, but I never really went out there as it was very small. When we discovered that we were pregnant with twins, we knew we needed to find somewhere bigger to live. The thing is that didn’t actually happen until our twins were 11 months old. We… [Read More]

We're in our new house! Now it's time to tidy the garden!

It’s official we’re in our new house! It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but we’re in and now the hard work starts! We have a mountain of boxes that need to be unpacked which I’m not looking forward too!  Thankfully my husband will probably do most of it, which means the garden will be left to me! I love my garden and don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but our new garden has a pretty big tree hanging over the back fence which has left a lot of leaves on the grass!  I think a leaf blower… [Read More]

Life’s not fair

Life’s not fair. I’m pretty sure that’s a statement that everyone has said at some point in their life whether they’re young, old, rich or poor and it’s true. Life simply isn’t fair. I lost my mum to cancer when I was 18 years old. My twin sister and I had to watch as she gradually got worse. She lost a lot of weight, as well as her appetite and her hair. She lost her spark. She used to be so upbeat, energetic, so positive, but ovarian cancer took all of that away from her. How is that fair? How… [Read More]

How long does it take you to clean your house?

How long does it take you to clean your house? This is the question I was asked today and the honest answer depends on what type of ‘clean’ I’m doing. My friend who works at Connect Cleaners estimated that it would take roughly 2 hours with a pair of professional cleaners on the job. Here is how I would break it down. I live in a dorma-bungalow so I have six rooms downstairs and three upstairs. Some rooms are easier to clean than others. For example, my kitchen is pretty easy to clean as the surfaces are pretty empty. Most… [Read More]

Butterbee Cottage Dolls House Review

When I was a child I had a dolls house. It was pink, made of wood and had lights that actually lit up! It was quite small, but I absolutely loved it!  There’s something really enchanting and magical about dolls houses. I did buy our girls one a while ago, but they were far too young for it at the time and it ended up being coloured in with felt tips and it pretty much fell apart so we binned it. Now that our girls are three and a half years old they’re more than ready for a dolls house…. [Read More]
