Two-by-Two Noahs Ark Review
When buying a gift for twins, there’s actually quite a lot to think about. Do you buy them one gift each or one to share?
If you do buy them one gift each, should you buy them the same thing so there’s not arguments over who gets what, or should you buy them something different?
I guess, it depends on the age of the children to start with. I mean for baby twins, they really don’t know it’s Christmas so it doesn’t matter if you buy them something different each, if you even buy them anything at all that is!
For toddlers, I always say if you’re going to buy them something each then it’s always best to make sure you buy them the same thing each. Even down to the same colour!
It’s actually hard at times to buy for twins. I bought a DVD for them both not long ago and R just happened to be next to me when I took it out of the bag so I gave it to her to hold. M came in and saw R had a DVD, so she asked where hers was. I explained there was only one and that they had to share. They soon understood, but it left me feeling a little bad. I hoped M understood that I hadn’t just bought it for R. It was for them both.
I always make sure that I buy them the same presents. If I buy a teddy bear and they’re different colours, there’ll be arguments between them over who has the pink one and who has the purple one! Come to think of it, when I buy them the same colour toy it can still lead to an argument over who’s having what one!

We were recently sent this beautiful wooden Two-by-Two Noah’s Ark to review from The Twins Gift Company.
It arrived beautifully packaged in black tissue paper which had a white ribbon wrapped around it.
It’s a perfect gift for twins for many reasons.
It comes with two of each animal so there’s one each! Great for us parents as it means no arguments! Well, hopefully!
There are 10 pairs of animals in total and of course it also comes with Mr and Mrs Ark.
The Noah’s ark is painted in fabulously bright colours and best of all it’s a fair-trade product. The blue body of the ark has three portholes allowing you to look inside the ark and there’s plenty of room for all of the animals to be stored inside.
Both sides of the ark have beautiful blue, wooden waves detailing the length of the ark and one side also has blue wooden dolphins on.
The ark can be taken apart and put back together again – a bit like a puzzle – and this allows children to fill the bottom of the ark up with the animals. One side of the ark has a removable ‘door’ that can be used as a walkway for the animals to exit the bottom of the boat.
The upper part of the boat is painted in a wonderfully bright shade of green and it has two windows either side of the raised middle part and also an entrance at either end so the animals can be put into the top.
The red roof can also be removed allowing children to see into the upper part of the ark and it also comes with a red ladder so that Mr and Mrs Ark can easily get all of the animals onto the ark two-by-two!
This is a beautifully crafted wooden toy and at £29.99 I think it’s great value for money. It’s super educational and has great play value. R and M bring this toy out at least once a day. They enjoy walking the animals up the ladder and onto the ark with Mr and Mrs Ark watching on.
They count the animals and it’s a good way of teaching the names of animals to children. This toy has provided hours of imaginative play for our twins. They’ll sit on the floor with the Ark in between them both and chat to each other about what animals they have and what their animals are doing. R usually pretends to feed the animals, whilst M usually tries to eat them herself!
The Noah’s Ark is made of MDF and is 280 x 150 x 190mm, so it’s a great size for two to play with. It’s suitable for children aged three and over.
As mentioned earlier it is a fair-trade product, which means when you buy this toy it makes a difference to all the crafts people in Sri Lanka who make Lanka Kade toys and gifts.
