The Sounds of Home

June 24, 2015

I was in the shower at home the other day.
My husband had already left for work so it was just me and our girls.
Whilst I was in the shower I could hear our girls chatting to each other and it gave me a real feeling of contentment and happiness.
The sound of them chatting away to each other whilst they played with their toys was so enchanting and magical to me.
Quite often if I’m in a different room to them I’ll stop whatever it is that I’m doing just so I can listen to them.
They’re such happy little girls. Obviously they have tantrums like every other child, but for the majority of the time they’re happy.
Isn’t it funny how our senses can determine the way we feel or how it can lift our moods in an instant!
The sound of my children’s laughter, kids TV blaring in the background and the sound of lego being clacked together and something magical is being built by little hands.
There’s nothing better!

The other day R and M were in the bath together, when M put her arm around R, turned to me and said; “We’re best friends!”
My heart melted in an instant!
The innocence of children.
It amazes me how simple things make them happy.
Bubbles in the bath, a cardboard box that can be used as a spaceship, car or rocket!
To me the sounds of a happy home filled with love and laughter is the best type of sound ever!

So cute, lovely post Emily 🙂 I know what you mean, when Alfie is at nursery it's so quiet without him and yet when he's home he is so loud but yet it doesn't feel like home when he isn't there. Thanks for linking up to the #bestandworst X
