London Marathon 2019: Another Fundraising Update

Fundraising It’s been just over a month since my last fundraising update so I thought it was time to write another update. In my last post I shared with you how I’d managed to raise £976.50 towards my £1,600 target for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. Since my last update I have managed to break through the £1,000 mark! I have now raised a total of £1,242.42! That’s 77% of my target, and means I have just £357.58 to go! So here’s how I managed to raise more money: £5.14 – Online donations £4.00 – Selling things £256.78 –… [Read More]

London Marathon Training Update

It dawned on me a few weeks ago that I’ve been so focused on fundraising for the London Marathon 2019 for my charity, WellChild, that I haven’t actually written an update on how my training is going. Whilst I written plenty of posts about how fundraising going, read my latest post here, I thought I’d write about my training. It may seem a little early to some to start training now, but my training is actually twofold. You see I’m also running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2018 for Cancer Research UK, so my training plan has started now… [Read More]

How to Host a Charity Coffee Morning

A few days ago I wrote an update post about my charity fundraising for WellChild. I’m running the London Marathon for them next April, and have a fundraising target of £1,600. With such a big target I wanted to start fundraising right away to give myself the best chance of hitting and hopefully exceeding that target. One of the events that I’d planned was a coffee morning. Taking advantage of a school inset day on a Friday, I decided to open up my house and garden to local parents and their children for a few hours in the morning. Having… [Read More]

London Marathon 2019: Fundraising Update

It’s been almost one month since my first fundraising update so I thought I’d write another update with you to share my progress. In my last fundraising post, which you can read here, I shared the amazing news that I’d managed to raise £455.18. That’s 28% of my £1,600 fundraising target for WellChild. I’d managed to raise this amount my donating the first £100 myself, and then by sharing my fundraising page with friends and family. This saw some online donations come in. I also sold some items that I no longer needed, and made some crafts to sell. My… [Read More]

My First Fundraising Event: An Update

As many people know I’ll be running the London Marathon next year for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. As part of accepting a charity place with WellChild I have a fundraising target of £1,600. I made the first donation of £100 to confirm my place, and I have since raised a good amount already through online donations, selling second hand goods, and from making crafts and selling them. However, I always knew that the biggest earner would be from hosting events. That’s why, with a pretty small turnaround time, I arranged my first event. A charity family magic… [Read More]

London Marathon Fundraising Update

Last week I shared a blog post with you about how I’ve accepted a charity place for the London Marathon with WellChild, the national charity for sick children. My fundraising target is £1,600. This is a huge amount of money to raise, so I’ve decided to give myself the best chance, I’d start fundraising right away! In order to confirm my acceptance of my charity place, I was asked to kickoff my fundraising with a £100 donation. I did this pretty much the same day I received the email offering me the charity place. With my £100 donation confirmed, I’m… [Read More]

Help us help Bliss and CRUK

Last year my husband and I started our very own charity campaign. Our aim is to raise £1,000 for Cancer Research UK and £1,000 for Bliss, the baby charity. We’re so pleased that so far we have raised a total of £701.00. As well as asking friends, family and complete strangers to donate to these two great charities, we also organised a charity raffle and a children’s Christmas Party. Both were a huge success and helped to raise lots of money. So now we are back! We will be skydiving for these two amazing charities – hopefully this year! We… [Read More]

Charity Update

The last charity update I published was on the 11th of November. I thought I would post another little update now to let you all know how our fundraising efforts are going. If you don’t already know, Twin Daddy and I are trying to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK and another £2,000 for Bliss, the baby charity.  Both charities are very close to our hearts. In 2005, after a brave and long battle with ovarian cancer my mum passed away.  In 2012 our beautiful twin daughters were born six weeks early and spent 27 days in neonatal care.  For… [Read More]
