London Marathon Training Update

It’s been a while since my last training update so I thought it was about time that I wrote a quick update. In my last fundraising update, which you can read here, I was excited to be able to tell you that I have now reached my fundraising target of £1,600 for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. My last actual training update was back in September. You can read it here. In this post I expressed concerns about being injured. I was due to run the Cardiff half marathon in October and although I was pretty sure I’d be… [Read More]

When I was offered… [Read More]

London Marathon Training Update

It dawned on me a few weeks ago that I’ve been so focused on fundraising for the London Marathon 2019 for my charity, WellChild, that I haven’t actually written an update on how my training is going. Whilst I written plenty of posts about how fundraising going, read my latest post here, I thought I’d write about my training. It may seem a little early to some to start training now, but my training is actually twofold. You see I’m also running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2018 for Cancer Research UK, so my training plan has started now… [Read More]

How to Host a Charity Coffee Morning

A few days ago I wrote an update post about my charity fundraising for WellChild. I’m running the London Marathon for them next April, and have a fundraising target of £1,600. With such a big target I wanted to start fundraising right away to give myself the best chance of hitting and hopefully exceeding that target. One of the events that I’d planned was a coffee morning. Taking advantage of a school inset day on a Friday, I decided to open up my house and garden to local parents and their children for a few hours in the morning. Having… [Read More]

London Marathon 2019: Fundraising Update

It’s been almost one month since my first fundraising update so I thought I’d write another update with you to share my progress. In my last fundraising post, which you can read here, I shared the amazing news that I’d managed to raise £455.18. That’s 28% of my £1,600 fundraising target for WellChild. I’d managed to raise this amount my donating the first £100 myself, and then by sharing my fundraising page with friends and family. This saw some online donations come in. I also sold some items that I no longer needed, and made some crafts to sell. My… [Read More]

My First Fundraising Event: An Update

As many people know I’ll be running the London Marathon next year for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. As part of accepting a charity place with WellChild I have a fundraising target of £1,600. I made the first donation of £100 to confirm my place, and I have since raised a good amount already through online donations, selling second hand goods, and from making crafts and selling them. However, I always knew that the biggest earner would be from hosting events. That’s why, with a pretty small turnaround time, I arranged my first event. A charity family magic… [Read More]

In order to confirm my acceptance of my charity place, I was asked to kickoff my fundraising with a £100 donation. I did this pretty much the same day I received the email offering me the charity place. With my £100 donation confirmed, I’m… [Read More]

Help us help Bliss and CRUK

Last year my husband and I started our very own charity campaign. Our aim is to raise £1,000 for Cancer Research UK and £1,000 for Bliss, the baby charity. We’re so pleased that so far we have raised a total of £701.00. As well as asking friends, family and complete strangers to donate to these two great charities, we also organised a charity raffle and a children’s Christmas Party. Both were a huge success and helped to raise lots of money. So now we are back! We will be skydiving for these two amazing charities – hopefully this year! We… [Read More]
