NSA Travel Essentials UV Sun Tent

July 15, 2015
Shortly after the birth of our twins, my husband and I invested in a pop up sun tent. We thought it would be great for the garden, as well as days out to the beach and park etc. The tent was lovely, but unfortunately it had a big downside. We could never manage to fold it up back up again to fit into the carry case. This meant that we only ever used it at home as it was simply too big to carry to the beach or anywhere else.
With that in mind when I was sent a UV sun tent from NSA Travel Essentials I was keen to see just how practical and easy-to-use it would be. Available from Boots, Amazon and Safetots.

Available in a range of colours we were sent a blue one. The NSA UV Sun Tent is British Standards Travel Cot approved for extra peace of mind for parents.
I’d planned to bring this sun tent on holiday to Menorca with us, but I wanted to test it out before we went to ensure that I could put it down again! If I couldn’t it’d mean leaving it behind!

Thankfully, the tent was really easy to put up and down. Simply by taking it out of the carry bag, it pops up. A handy guide is included which tells you how to put it down again, but we didn’t need to look at it as was very easy.
It folded back down to its original size meaning we could easily put it back into the carry bag.
Pre-holiday test complete it was time to really put it to the test on the hot beach in Menorca!
The tent only weighs 2kg which makes it very portable and also means that it won’t affect your travel baggage allowance too much. It’s SPF35 protection makes it ideal and safe for UK and warmer climate holidays. You could even use it as a travel cot as it comes with a quilted sleep mat and self-inflating mattress.
On our first visit to the beach I put the tent up quickly. The sand was very hot, but I didn’t need to worry about our twins getting burnt as the tent offered plenty of protection. It even has a mosquito net which hangs down in front of the opening.

The tent is well made and durable. Our twins are three years old and they both fitted in the tent with ease. It helped to keep them cool on the beach and provided a much needed shelter from the heat whilst our girls could have something to eat, drink or just have a quiet rest.

Overall, my husband and I are very pleased with this tent and would highly recommend it.
For the purpose of this review we were sent one UV Sun Tent. All views and opinions are 100% my own.

What a fab idea! I've never really thought about using a portable travel cot before especially not on the beach or on holiday. It's really great it can be put up and put away easily 🙂 #FamilyTested

Hi Michelle, thanks for your comment. It really is a great tent. Our last one was so big and we just couldn't fold it back up again, but this one is perfect and super easy to put-up and down x

I think these are such a great idea – we always used to use one when Joe was little.
