1. Bulk buy nappies. Online companies often have good deals on when you bulk buy nappies. Rather than buying the odd pack here and there, have a look online for deals where you can get discounts for buying in bulk. It’ll save you money and also save you from running to the shop in the early days.

3. You don’t need to buy many clothes to start with. Some vests and bodysuits are all that your baby needs for their first few months. You won’t need to buy any fiddly outfits such as jeans as you’ll want your baby to be comfortable and you’ll want to be able to easily change your babies nappy with as little fuss as possible.

4. Cook food in batches and freeze them! This is a tip told time after time, but it really will help you to save money, time and ensure that you’re eating properly. Having meals readily prepared will stop you from heading to your nearest takeaway for a quick and easy bite to eat that’s not too kind on your pocket.

5. Don’t go overboard on buying toys. All your baby will do for the first few weeks is sleep and drink milk. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t buy them any toys, but maybe limit it to one cuddly toy or one rattle. Trust me, when your baby is older, you’ll be glad to have saved money on not buying toys when they were younger!
