Yay!
First, the good news! We are moving! Woo hoo! If you follow me on twitter, then it’s possible you may know that we live in a 2 bed flat on the third floor and that the people living underneath us, are very inconsiderate. They are noisy and I have no idea what the noise is. It doesn’t bother me so much in the day because there is nothing I can do about it, but at 10pm, 12am, 2am, 3am, 5am….yeah, then it bothers me because it wakes our girls.
I don’t know what the noise is. It sounds like doors banging, furniture being moved, the dog barking, arguing, the TV blaring, you name it, it’s coming from the flat under us. Last night, they actually opened their front door and it sounded like they were deliberately bashing pots and pans.
Now I say deliberately because after putting up with it for so long, I decided to go and have a polite, and I mean polite, word with them. I explained to the lady (I use the word lady loosely), that the noise was waking our girls in the night. She denied making any noise and even went as far as to say that she knows living in a block of flats that noise can be an issue, which is why she is very considerate. Blah, blah, blah. Well, initially the noise was less and our girls slept.
However, things have gone back to the way they were, well they’ve actually got worse.
We have a number of issues with our flat. When we first moved in 8 years ago, it was lovely. It’s a privately rented flat but the Council own the building and ever since they changed the roof and guttering last year, we have had nothing but problems.
- Damp on all exterior walls (the council are adamant it’s condensation – it’s not – it’s 100% damp)
- Every time we have heavy rain, our electric goes off
Now, the above two points I can put up with. We simply fill a flask when it rains and turn a blind eye to the damp whilst continuing our fight with the council.
The reason we’re moving is because of those from beneath. The constant noise and just plain rudeness of the people living below us is just staggering.
Our new home, a 2 bed maisonette is on the ground floor and has one private entrance. No more communal entrance, no more carrying two babies up and down the stairs.
We can’t wait!
Hopefully, we will be in, in time for Christmas!
No Yay!
Our girls have such a bad cold. Full of snot and coughs. Worst of all is the phlegm because it’s making them gag and be sick.
Please send us your positive thoughts that they get better soon.
