The Cost of Moving House: A Handy Calculator!

My husband and I have moved house more times than we care to mention. When we first moved in together, we rented a small two bedroom flat that was on the second floor of a block of flats. It served it’s purpose well, but I did miss having a garden. We had a balcony, but I never really went out there as it was very small. When we discovered that we were pregnant with twins, we knew we needed to find somewhere bigger to live. The thing is that didn’t actually happen until our twins were 11 months old. We… [Read More]

We're in our new house! Now it's time to tidy the garden!

It’s official we’re in our new house! It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but we’re in and now the hard work starts! We have a mountain of boxes that need to be unpacked which I’m not looking forward too!  Thankfully my husband will probably do most of it, which means the garden will be left to me! I love my garden and don’t mind getting my hands dirty, but our new garden has a pretty big tree hanging over the back fence which has left a lot of leaves on the grass!  I think a leaf blower… [Read More]

Life’s not fair

Life’s not fair. I’m pretty sure that’s a statement that everyone has said at some point in their life whether they’re young, old, rich or poor and it’s true. Life simply isn’t fair. She used to be so upbeat, energetic, so positive, but ovarian cancer took all of that away from her. How is that fair? How… [Read More]

Grieving definitely doesn’t get any easier

In 2005 mum passed away. She left behind a husband and two daughters. She’d fought ovarian cancer for years. When she passed away people would tell me that this feeling of emptiness, loneliness and great sadness would gradually fade away into a terrible memory. I would get over it. The truth? I’ll never get over it. I mean how am I meant to get over it? It doesn’t make any sense. She was 50 years old. She had everything in front her. I resent elderly people moaning about their lives. You’re still alive! Enjoy it! Make the most of it!… [Read More]

Yay and no yay!

Yay! First, the good news! We are moving! Woo hoo! If you follow me on twitter, then it’s possible you may know that we live in a 2 bed flat on the third floor and that the people living underneath us, are very inconsiderate. They are noisy and I have no idea what the noise is. It doesn’t bother me so much in the day because there is nothing I can do about it, but at 10pm, 12am, 2am, 3am, 5am….yeah, then it bothers me because it wakes our girls.  I don’t know what the noise is. It sounds like… [Read More]
