What was your first car?

I’ve worked in the car insurance industry for around 10 years now. It’s not a career that I thought I would end up in, but 10 years in and I’m still going strong!

I started not long after I’d left college. I’d had a number of other jobs such as cleaner, cashier etc, but I knew that I wanted more from life. When I applied for the job, I didn’t ever think I’d still be there now, but I am and I’m grateful for that. Especially when you hear stories on the news of people being made redundant, so I’m very grateful for job security. 

I didn’t know much about car insurance before I started the job. I didn’t even have my own car either, but I learnt a lot and eventually I managed to save up enough money to buy my first car. It was such a proud moment. Knowing that I owned this car 100% was a pretty good feeling. I felt proud that I’d managed to save up to buy it for myself. It also happened to be an added bonus that when it came to the insurance, I was pretty savvy on what to look for!

The fact that it only has two doors, also means it’s a bit of a squeeze to get our twins in and out, but we manage! 

I have a motto in life and that’s that if it’s not broken then why change it! It does the job I want it do and that’s all that matters!
