The girls first day at nursery school! Part 1
I’m sitting at my desk as I write this.
The house is quiet and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself!
Today is the day that our girls start nursery.
My husband and I have been preparing them for weeks for this day. We’ve read them books about starting school, told them their teachers name and talked about all of the things that they’ll do whilst at nursery.
Last night before they went the girls helped me to get their uniforms ready.
When the girls woke up they were both excited about going to nursery. R in particular was very excited! She kept saying that she couldn’t wait and kept asking if it was time to go yet!
When the time did come, my husband came with us.
As R and I stood in the driveway waiting for Daddy and M to come out, R hugged me and said she was going to hug me until Daddy and M came out! I welled up a bit, but managed to hold back my tears!
We were greeted at the door by two of their teachers. They were friendly and very smiley. They showed the girls where their pegs with their names on were so we hung up their bags and then took them into the main room.
The girls saw all of the toys and there were already a handful children there.
I told the teacher R would need a hand doing her trousers up. We’ve practised and sometimes she can do it, other times she can’t.
We gave the girls a big kiss and cuddle. I could see that R was welling up a bit, but she didn’t actually cry which I’m pleased about, although I don’t know if she will cry when we’re gone.
As soon as we left and were out of sight I did have a few tears myself. They’re growing up so quickly and they looked so little in their uniforms.
So, now I’m home alone wondering how to pass the time.
I’m sure they’ll love it, but I have to admit that I’m feeling a bit nervous about dropping them off on my own tomorrow morning.

Aww I hope they both had a great first day at nursery! They do grow up way too quickly, my little nephew seems more grown up every time I see him! x
