The Diggers Book Review

As part of Parragon Books Book Buddy Scheme we were sent a copy of The Diggers by Margaret Wise Brown.

This book is one of my favourites and I think it’s safe to say that it’s also one of our twins favourite books too. It’s beautifully illustrated pages are full of colour and things to find, which makes it a really fun book to read.

The book starts out with a mole and a dog. They’re both digging a hole and the dog is using his to bury his bone. As the book progresses we see a variety of animals such as worms and rabbits.
As mentioned above there are also different things to spot on the page. For example on the page with the rabbits you can spot their carrots and also the sleeping rabbits.
As the story progresses we come to a man who is digging a hole using a shovel. The man digs and digs and digs, but soon decides to make a big hole he’ll need to use a digger!
The digger is big and yellow and the man uses it to dig a giant train tunnel.
The actual story of the book rhymes and it flows really well making it a joy to read. Overall we love this book!

We’ve also started living a more eco-friendly life. As such I also write about our zero waste journey in a bid to encourage others to think about the impact they have on the environment.

I’m a keen runner and in April 2019 I ran the London Marathon for an amazing charity called WellChild. It’s one of my biggest achievements to date. I raised over £2,000 for the charity and learnt so much along the way.

This year we’re passionate about spending time outdoors. We’ll be sharing our travel, days out and camping adventures right here on Twin Mummy and Daddy.
