A Scottish Adventure

Like many people I have a bucket list. Although, I have to be honest and say that I’m not keen on calling it a bucket list, but rather just a list of things I’d like to do in life. That way if I don’t manage to do them all, that’s ok! I don’t have a time limit on when I plan to do these things, and not even 100% sure that I’ll ever get around to doing them all, but it’s nice to have goals! I have quite a varied range of things on my list. From writing a book… [Read More]

Wales Air Ambulance Real Rescues

As regular readers of my blog will know, I was lucky enough to be chosen to be part of Team Brecon Carreg. Team Brecon Carreg involves taking part in a number of running events throughout the year and raising money for Wales Air Ambulance. For every mile the team covers, £1, will be donated to Wales Air Ambulance. In April alone, we managed to raise an amazing £1,078! Last month, the team and I were lucky enough to visit Wales Air Ambulance at their base in Llanelli. I was amazed to learn that each year their helicopters attend around 2,500… [Read More]

A Visit to Wales Air Ambulance as part of #TeamBreconCarreg

As part of Team Brecon Carreg, my team mates and I were invited to the Wales Air Ambulance Base in Llanelli to find out more about what Wales Air Ambulance does. Just to give a brief overview, Team Brecon Carreg is a running team, split into North and South Wales. Each team is made up of 10 members. As part of Team Brecon Carreg we’ve been entered into a number of races across Wales, and the best part is that for every mile the team runs in training and in events, Brecon Carreg will donate £1 to Wales Air Ambulance…. I’m Part of Team Brecon Carreg #TeamBreconCarreg

When I started running, I had no idea how much of a positive effect it would have on my life. Not only have I lost weight, I’ve also had a complete lifestyle change. I eat better. I feel more energised, motivated and most importantly of all, I feel happier. Little did I know when I started running in March last year, that I would end up completing my first half marathon! Who knows. Maybe one day, I’ll pluck up the courage to run a full marathon! Until then, however, I’m happy running around my neighbourhood, plotting new routes and entering… [Read More]

Anything is Possible! Accessible Travel in the UK

#TravelforAll Infographic

Travelling is often thought of as something that the young do. Not necessarily just the young, rich and famous. Plenty of students take gap years to travel the world, explore hidden cities and experience one in a lifetime opportunities. Travel, however, isn’t just for the young. You see anything is possible regardless of age and ability. Just because you’re a little older, that doesn’t mean you have to stop doing the things you love and that includes travel. There’s always a way! #TravelforAll is a campaign which is currently being run by Mobility Nationwide. It’s a brilliant campaign that aims… [Read More]

Travel Feature: Wales's Hidden Gems

With it’s rugged coastline, national parks and the many historical sites that are dotted around the country, Wales is a fantastic place to visit this Easter. I’m lucky enough that I live in Cardiff, the capital of Wales and I have to say that it really is a great place to live. I was born in Cardiff and have lived there all of my life. I could never ever dream of living anywhere else! With that in mind, I thought I’d put together a guide of some of Wales’s hidden gems that you simply must visit at least once in… [Read More]

Kingdom of the Elves Review at Bluestone Wales

We’ve been to Bluestone Wales before, but never for Christmas. In December 2015, during Christmas week we visited Bluestone Wales. My husband and I decided that we wanted to return as we really enjoyed our last stay. Day One – An Elf Party We left from our home in Cardiff around midday and arrived around 1.45pm. There was a queue to get in which meant we had to wait 40 minutes before we drove up to the window to let them know we’d arrived. After the wait though everything went quickly. We parked the car, picked up our buggy and… [Read More]

A Crafternoon with Jacdo

My husband and I were invited to join Jacdo today for a ‘crafternoon’ event. Jacdo is a monthly subscription box aimed at children aged two years of age onwards.  The great thing about Jacdo is that everything needed to do the craft activity is included in the box, so there’s no need to raid your cupboards or rush out to the shops to find some last minute supplies! Each box contains high quality materials, ensuring durability and longevity.  In addition to the box, you also get free online access to great extra content, like print & make activities and handy homework helpers…. How to register for the NHS

The NHS is a wonderful thing. Providing free healthcare at local doctors surgeries and hospitals. It’s fair to say that it’s been a vital part of my life since I was born! Throughout my childhood I’ve had many Accident and Emergency (A&E) trips for various breaks, trips, falls and allergies. Much like my doctors surgery too, where I’ve been for advice as well as treatment. When my children and I fell ill at home last year the doctor came to our home to treat us. It’s an invaluable resource and makes such a huge difference to our lives. When my… [Read More]
