As summer comes to an end, I like to look forward to one of my favourite times of the year. The Autumn/Winter season!
Like many people, I enjoy snuggling under a soft, warm blanket on my sofa with the fire lit and a good film on the TV. Of course I love summer too, but there’s something so magical and homely about the colder months!
It also means we can start getting ready for the party season!
Christmas!
Oops, sorry, yes I did just mention the ‘C’ word in September, but I can’t help it!
For me, this time of year means lots of parties! This could be birthday parties or family get-togethers, but mainly Christmas parties for the kids!
I just love seeing the excitement on their faces when they walk into a magical wonderland full of snow, polar bears and ice skating!
I have to be honest as well, I love getting the kids all dressed up for their parties! It’s the one time that I actually have an input into what they wear! Most of the time it’s jeans, t-shirts and skirts, but for M, our super girly girl, this means I can start to look at what children’s dresses she can wear!
Now, I’m not talking about your regular child’s dress, I’m talking about a super cute children’s party dress!
Here are some of my favourites!

I just love the bold colours with extra detail such as the pleats, stars and adorable capped sleeves. I also love the collar on the dress in the top left. It kind of reminds me of a doll’s dress, and how cute is the pink dress with the little girl on?! The great thing about this dress is that it’s nice and warm too, plus it would look super cute teamed up with a pair of pink boots and a pink bobble hat and scarf!
Of course, I like to look my best for all these parties too, so naturally I have to go and find myself a dress too! I must admit I do like to having matching outfits to the girls sometimes! I’d never dress them the same, but I think it’s nice for me to have an outfit that’s the same kind of theme as theirs.
For example, if M was to wear a red dress, I too would wear a red dress. It looks great in family photos!
Now, all I have to do is start shopping and start planning all our parties! When it comes to planning for Christmas I try my best to stick to a budget. Find out how I do this here.
Do you look forward to this time of year too?
