No matter what book review
No matter what is a beautifully written book that has fast become one of my favourites. It tells the tale of a little fox who is in a rather bad mood.
“I’m grim and grumpy” says Small to Large, “and I don’t think you love me at all.”
The little fox, known as small, is worried that its mother won’t him forever, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Thankfully Large knows just how to reassure small in this heart-warming story that addresses children’s biggest worries and parents endless capacity for love.
As parents we all have times where we have to tell our children off either for misbehaving or for something else, but obviously we still love them even if they’re being a bit naughty. This book addresses this issue well and sends the message to children that even when they’re grumpy, they’re still very much loved.
I really like the pictures that accompany this book. They’re beautifully drawn and really help to capture the emotion of the story. This book also addresses the question of love when someone is no longer around. Just because someone isn’t here anymore – whether it be through death or something else – it doesn’t mean that the love disappears too. Love is never-ending and this book truly helps to get that message out there.
Large, who is Small’s mother manages to prove to Small that a parents love is limitless – no matter what! R and M, our twin girls really enjoyed listening to this story and I really enjoyed it reading it over and over again.

We love No Matter What, it's one of our favourite Debi Gliori stories along with What's The Time, Mr Wolf?

I could never read this to the Tubblet without getting all tearful. It really sums up what parenting / caring is all about
