I wrote a post (click here to view) a while ago about how to make friends with other mums. I explained how I found it diffcult to find someone to chat with at baby group each week because most of the mums already knew each other. I would say hello and have a brief chat with a few people, but nothing of any consequence.
Well, that has changed!
Two ladies arrived at baby group one day who had never been before and we started chatting. I got on well with both, but one in particular, who we’ll call K. K has a 14 month old little boy and recently moved back to Cardiff from London. She lives about a 5 minute drive away and we have been speaking to each other regulary at baby and music group each week for over a month now.
With the summer holidays looming and the horrible prospect of no baby group to entertain the little ones, we have swapped numbers and plan to meet up outside of baby group during the holidays. It’s great because her son is close in age to our twins it means they will go to the same school together.
I’m so glad I’ve finally made a mummy friend! It’s only taken me 17 months!
