7 of the best walking routes to do with your pushchair

May 5, 2016
We know that walking is one of the best things you can do with your little one, especially as the days get brighter and longer. UV light exposure has been shown to help regulate sleep patterns and the natural light and fresh air definitely helps to tire little ones out!
This applies from newborns upwards – and of course as your family gets older you may well be juggling a toddler on a bike or scooter and a newborn in a pram! Make sure everyone has plenty of sunscreen and hats on if the day is sunny; stop for regular drink breaks; and have a suitable buggy or pushchair that is designed to handle different terrains.
You will no doubt have plenty of good walking routes near you. Look for country parks, trails, canal sides or other local walking routes. Or why not visit one of these top locations for a day trip out as a family.
Here are some of the Adorable Tots team favourites:

The Poole Harbour walk is lovely with the tinkling boats in the marina and various places to stop for refreshments en route. Again, you’ll find that the paths are perfect for buggies and toddlers with bikes or scooters, and there are wonderful floral displays to admire too, in addition to plenty of public facilities.

This is a favourite with the locals, and includes a forest with red squirrels and tremendous leafy walks, plus a great beach with sand dunes, a rugged landscape and a large flat sandy area. There is a small cafe and good public facilities, with plenty of parking.

Take a buggy or designer pushchair which are great for off-road adventures with shock absorbing tyres for a comfortable ride. You’ll need the perfect pushchair for all kinds of terrain that will tackle any surface really well.
