Yumi Direct Clothing Review

June 24, 2014
Can you believe that it’s been over two years since I actually bought myself some new clothes?
I know! I couldn’t believe it either!
That’s what happens sometimes when you have children!
Instead of looking for clothes for me, I’m always looking for pretty clothes for our twin girls!
My usual morning routine was to grab the same pair of jeans I’ve owned for quite some time now and either a long black sleeve top if the weather was a bit cold, or a black vest with a cardigan if it’s warm.
The thing is after wearing the same clothes for over two years and putting them through a twin pregnancy, they look quite worn and out of shape!
Thankfully, I decided to have a wardrobe overhaul and threw out around 80% of the clothes in my wardrobe. I had way too many clothes!
I then embarked on a shopping spree with my sister and picked up some gorgeous colourful items to brighten up my normally boring wardrobe.
So, when Yumi Direct contacted me shortly after my little shopping spree about reviewing some of their clothes I took a look at their website and promptly replied ‘Yes!’

Yumi’s Spring/Summer Collection 2014 has a mixture of beautiful fabrics with flattering designs to suit pretty much any body shape.
If I had to describe Yumi in one word it’d have to be ‘feminine’.
I really struggled to whittle it down to a few items to review as I wanted everything, but in the end I went for the Yumi Eastern Bird Cover Up (£35). I have a new pair of skinny jeans and a pink cami top that I think this cover up goes perfectly with. What do you think?

This is my outfit for the second day of Britmums Live. It’s comfortable, yet smart and stylish.
The Yumi Eastern Bird Cover Up has a floral and bird print design which features contrast lining and a waterfall collar. It’s made from 100% polyester and it’s really well made. The quality is second to none.
The second item I chose for myself is this fabulous Yumi Lovely in Lace Skirt (£25). I chose it in black, but it’s also available in white.
I’m quite into my cami tops at the moment and I have a black lace cami that looks super cute with this skirt. It’s made from 100% polyester.

Moving onto our twins and I chose one pink and one yellow spot playsuit each.
Something to bear in mind is that our twins were two the end of February and these playsuits are 3-4 years old. They fit really well, but I think it’s worth bearing this in mind, because I’m not sure if it would still fit them when they are 3-4 years old.
M and R
I love the attention to detail that these playsuits have such as the little fabric buttons that go right up the middle, the cute bow on the waistband and the frilly pockets on the back.
They’re made from 100% cotton.
I teamed these playsuits up with some sparkly jelly shoes! R is also wearing a Doctor’s badge as we’d been playing Doctors shortly before this picture was taken!

Overall, I am really pleased with both the service received from Yumi and with the quality of the clothes.

For the purpose of this review we were sent the above items to review.

Great choices, I love the black lace skirt! It's always nice when you throw away a load of old stuff and have a bit of a shopping spree, not that it happens very often though!
