Subliminal messages to help kids tidy up?

Come on now! Everybody sing to the tune of ‘I wish I was a punk rocker’ by Sandi Thom… Oh I wish I was a funky fairy with powers in my glare In 2017 revolution was in the air You were born to me, but now I know my powers are not there! Oh I give up! It’s hard for me to say this, but I totally understand how my parents felt when I was a kid. If I was a fairy, my magical power would be to stare at my kids with a ‘glare’ so menacing they’d know instantly… [Read More]

Should children play with make up?

As a mum to twin girls, I’m very aware of ensuring that I promote a body positive attitude to my girls. Although they’re only four years old, I’m careful what I say around them when it comes to my opinions on my body. I mean nobody is perfect. Everyone has parts of them that they’d like to improve upon. Perhaps you want to be a little taller, slimmer or have a smaller nose, who knows! The things that children over hear adults saying can often have quite a powerful impact on their own opinions of themselves. I’d like to have… [Read More]

Skechers Twinkle Toes Light Up Canvas Shoe Review from Brantano

We were recently sent two pairs of Skechers Twinkle Toes Light Up Canvas Shoes from Brantano to review. I always wanted a pair of light up shoes when I was a child, but I don’t think I ever owned a pair. I’m not quite sure what it is about light up shoes that makes them so attractive to children, but they’re definitely popular at the moment. The thing that I love most about these shoes is the colour. They’re vibrant, sparkly and really stand out. The mixture of glittery purple with the aztec design on the sides and the fox… [Read More]

Pisamonas Back to School Shoe Review!

Pisamonas – A name I’ve come to love. Not just because it’s a cool name for an online children’s shoe store, but because they also happen to be a brand that I love! Pisamonas have a fantastic range of high quality kids footwear designed and made in Spain. I happen to know that they really are high quality because I own a pair of their sandals and our twins also have a pair each. You can read about their spring/summer collection here. In this post I’ll be reviewing two pairs of Leather Lace Up Oxford Shoes which will be perfect for our girls when… [Read More]

Don't wish your baby's life away

All of a sudden my three year old twin girls seem very grown up. They can now climb up the climbing wall in the park all by themselves. They can walk across the wobbly chain bridge without me holding onto them. They can hold pretty intelligent conversations and they ask sensible, intriguing questions. Every morning they give me a joyful yes or a stern no if the outfit I pick out for them isn’t what they want to wear! They know their own minds. They know what they want and quite often they know how to get what they want!… [Read More]

Denim – How do you wear yours?

I love my jeans, but the way in which I wear them has changed massively over the years. In the 90’s it was all about the flare and the bell bottoms! Teamed with a super tight vest! In the naughties it was all about the bootcut for me! Usually teamed up with a sleeveless shirt with a cute tied up front to show my belly off! Now it’s all about the skinny jeans teamed with a cute cami top! Here’s a great infographic from House of Fraser about dressing up or dressing down your jeans! How do you wear yours?… [Read More]

Rise and Shine! It’s time to take on the Early Bird Challenge!

I am not a morning person. I never have been and I doubt I ever will be. My husband on the other hand is definitely a morning person. Once he’s awake, he’s awake! It doesn’t matter what time it is. Before our twins were born he would regularly wake at 6am and just sit watching TV or play one of his games.  I’d be quite happy staying in bed until 10am, sometimes 11am. When I was in my teens you’d be lucky to see me before midday.  Since having children you’d think all that would have changed and that I’d… [Read More]

Night time potty training

It official! Potty training in our house is officially over and done with for now! Both of our girls are fully potty trained in the day. I wasn’t in a rush to potty train them and I would have quite happily waited until they were three before I even thought about potty training, but our girls started showing signs that they were ready around two years and a few months. I’ve heard that boys can take longer than girls to potty train so if you’re reading this and worrying about when the right time to start is – stop worrying! Do you know any… [Read More]

No Mirror Make Up Challenge (Video)

Fellow blogger Charlotte has set me and a number of other bloggers a challenge. The challenge is to do the #NoMirrorMakeup challenge to raise money for Henshaws. Henshaws work with visually impaired people by helping to give them independence and a life that they enjoy. When you consider how limited you would be when you can’t see it’s a pretty daunting thought. Not being able to your baby’s smile, not being able to drive and not being able to see someone’s facial expressions is a pretty big deal.  The challenge is about trying to understand what it’s like for women… [Read More]
