There’s more to microwaves than you think #SoMuchMore

How often do you use a microwave?

I think I probably use mine pretty much every day. Whether that’s to heat up some beans or frozen peas, or to heat up a quick and healthy ready meal. Yes, quick and healthy microwave ready meals really do exist!

Just yesterday I had salmon with brown rice and vegetables that was all cooked in the microwave. I think that when most people think about using microwaves, they assume you’re using it to cook an unhealthy ready meal, but that’s simply not the case.

Microwaves have come a long way since they were first invented. In the video below I was impressed to see a Michelin-starred chef cook a three course meal using a combination microwave oven, and if you watch the video for yourself, you’ll see that the people eating the food were just as surprised as me that everything they’d just eaten had been cooked in a microwave.

You see microwaves are #SoMuchMore than just an appliance to heat up a quick meal. Yes, they’re great for quick meals, I use mine a lot for that, but knowing that you can use a combination microwave oven to actually cook a three course meal that looks absolutely delicious is very appealing!

If you don’t know what a combination microwave oven is, let me give you a brief explanation. As the name suggests, it’s a combination of microwave, grill and convection heating (fanned hot air). This means that you can use a combination microwave oven to roast, brown and crisp food in the same way as a conventional oven.

You can cook a baked pasta dish, cakes, desserts, fish, poultry and meat in a combination oven, as well as use it to make savoury snacks. They’re very versatile and I have to say that I think it’s a must have gadget to own.

Do you own a combination microwave oven? What do you cook in yours?
