Brilliant Mum Feature Week 13

July 6, 2017

Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.

If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Emma who blogs at Our Fairytale Adventure. Emma is 27 years old and lives in Cheshire with her partner and two boys. She’s a stay at home mum at the moment, but is hoping to go back to university to study her masters degree soon. Emma enjoys travelling and has lots of fun adventures planned over the next 18 months.

Thanks for taking part Emma!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

Yes, it was always something I visioned. I never thought I would have children quite as young as I did though.

How did you feel when your children were born?

I love being a mum, but both of my labours were really difficult. They both really exhausted me and I was quite poorly afterwards. Just beforehand I had Bear, I had given up my job and moved nearly 300 miles from my friends and family, so I guess I was a bit overwhelmed when I first had him. To be honest though, I settled into being a mum really quickly once I was home from the hospital.

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

I love watching my children grow into these amazing little people. The boys are both so kind and considerate of others, it’s so lovely to see. I am always amazed at how much they take in and learn about the world around them.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

I don’t think I could single out just the one thing, they both have little quirks and have funny things they do/say.

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

Not really to be honest. I’m nearly always around though, so if they feel unsettled they know they can come and have a cuddle. When they are in nursery the staff are really good, so again if they are feeling a bit overwhelmed there are always people they know they can go to for a cuddle.

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

That they are happy, look after each other always and help protect our planet for future generations.
