The Jolly Postman Book Review
I really don’t know how I had not heard of this book before! Over 5 millions copies have been sold, so it’s pretty popular!
After we received this book and after I’d read it a good number of times to our girls, I showed it to my husband and told him about how amazing it is. He said he’s heard of it before and actually used to read it to his other three children when they were younger! My husband even told me that there is a Christmas edition so I’ve added it to my Christmas wish list for our girls!
The Jolly Postman is a book like none I’ve ever come across before! The Jolly Postman delivers cards and letters to various fairy-tale characters throughout the books. Pretty standard stuff you might think, but wait! There’s more to this book than meets the eye!
Inside are six pages which are like envelopes and each one contains a letter or a postcard etc.
He has a letter of apology for the three bears from Goldilocks, a postcard from Jack for the giant, a solicitor’s letter on behalf of Little Red Riding-Hood for the wolf who ate grandma, and so on.
Our girls favourite one is the birthday card for Goldilocks because it has a pretend pound note inside!
As well as the various letters and cards, this book has a lovely story to it and each page is beautifully illustrated.
This is more than just a book! It’s a fun, engaging book that children will enjoy reading. My girls couldn’t wait to see what was in each of the envelopes on each page and they loved listening to what the letters said.
Overall, a great book that I would highly recommend!

I love books and this looks like a great way to get children into letter writing (another love of mine!). This may have to go on the Christmas list 😉

This was one of my fave books as a child, can't believe you didn't know about it. I have to get Eva the christmas one this year. It's fab x

We love this – also the Christmas one is gorgeous. My children love to take out all the post. This is never a quick book to read! x
