The Christmas Tag

December 22, 2014
I read a blog post a little while ago over on Poole Mamma called The Christmas Tag. Jeni first saw The Christmas Tag on another person’s blog and liked the idea herself so she decided to take part in it. I too like the idea and thought I’d give it a go as well!
All we have to do is answer some questions about Christmas. If you’re feeling festive, why not have a go too?!
1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
My absolute favourite thing about Christmas is seeing my twin daughters faces light up when they realise Santa has been and has left them some presents!
For me Christmas is all about the kids! I love the build-up – talking to our girls about Santa and his reindeers, getting them to help me make the Christmas cake, mince pies, apple pies and biscuits and decorating the house, putting up the tree and then watching lots of Christmas films!

2. What is your favourite make-up look for the festive season?
I tend to just keep my make-up fairly simple. I have a ‘special look’ for Christmas, I just do the same thing I do every day! A thin layer of foundation, some blusher and face powder followed by eye-liner, mascara and lipstick.
3. Real or fake tree?
I’d love to have a real tree for one reason. The smell. I love the smell of real Christmas trees, but in reality the mess with the pines falling off and going everywhere would just be a nightmare with kids around! Maybe when they’re older!

Until then we’ll stick with our fake tree. It looks pretty and is easy to put up and down every year, plus it saves us from spending money on a tree every year!
4. Giving or receiving presents?
Can I be selfish and say both?!
I really enjoy buying presents for people and I enjoy it even more when I see their faces light up after opening up their gifts.
I also enjoy receiving presents! Who doesn’t?!
5. Do you open your presents in the morning or evening?
First thing in the morning!
After all the effort we go to on Christmas eve of laying the presents out, putting toys together so they’re ready to play with, it’d be a shame not to do it first thing in the morning!
When I was growing up we always opened our presents in the morning, so I guess it’d feel strange to leave it to the evening!
6. Handmade or shop bought Christmas cards?
If I had time I’d say handmade Christmas cards, but I don’t have time so shop bought it is!
7. Favourite Christmas film?
1985 Santa Claus staring Dudley Moore! A classic!
8. Favourite Christmas food?
Christmas cake!

This is this years homemade cake.

9. Favourite Christmas gift?
All of them!
10. What tops your tree?
A silver star.
