The Truth about being a Blogging Couple

As many of our regular readers know, my husband and I are what is known as a ‘blogging couple’. Obviously, this is my blog, but did you know that my husband also blogs? His blog, DIY Daddy, started back in September 2014, and I started blogging back in June 2012, shortly after the birth of our twin girls. I started blogging as a way to document our children’s lives, but it was to predominantly share our IVF journey with others. I never thought that six years later, I’d still be blogging, let alone that my husband would also have his… [Read More]

A day in the life of a blogger

Blogging means different things to different people. To some it’s a hobby that they enjoy doing once in a while, whereas to others it’s a business that can earn them some nice money. To me, it’s a bit of both. I work two days a week and then for the remaining three days of the working week whilst our twins are in school, I blog. Some people struggle to understand what this means and how I can spend three days sat in front of a laptop writing, but it’s a lot more than that. As such, I thought I’d write… [Read More]

Child Bloggers and Vloggers – How do you decide upon the right age?

Child on iPad

Our twins are four years old, soon to be five in the new year. They enjoy watching a variety of videos on You Tube Kids such as Fireman Sam, My Little Pony, Mille and Mollie, and more! They also like to watch videos of people talking dolls and characters such as Anna and Elsa from Frozen, along with other Disney Princesses, but they also like watching videos of people digging plastic toy eggs out of playdoh as they can’t wait to find out what’s inside. I was at home a few days ago with our girls when I walked passed… [Read More]

Moving from Blogger to WordPress

Badge

I started blogging back in 2012. When I decided that I wanted to start blogging, I didn’t really do much research. I just typed ‘start a blog’ into Google one day and the ‘Blogger’ platform came up at the top of the list so that’s the one I chose to go with. Blogger was easy to use and didn’t require much technical knowledge. I dabbled into creating my own blog design, header, badge and social media icons using Pic Monkey, over the years, I got better at this. I learnt about HTML, follow and no-follow links, back links and SEO,… [Read More]

Wynsors Shoes: VIP Blogger Box for Blue Monday

Blue Monday 2016 has recently passed us by. If you didn’t know then well done for going the whole day without realising! Blue Monday was on the 18th January and it’s called Blue Monday because apparently it’s the most depressing day of the year.   When I woke up on Blue Monday, I can pretty much understand why. I slept through my alarm by 30 minutes meaning I had to skip having a shower. I drank my hot cup of tea and ate my banana muffin for breakfast whilst driving to work.    I nearly got ran over too, so… [Read More]
