Brilliant Mum Feature Week 70
Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Kirsty from Navigating Baby.
Kirsty lives in London with her four kids, husband, two cats and two fish – the house is full! She has her own business writing cvs and doing interview coaching as well as writing her blog. In her spare time, Kirsty loves running.
Thanks for taking part Kirsty!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Yes it was always in my life plan. I thought I would have two children, but after fertility issues and a long journey to getting our first baby we didn’t want to stop.
How did you feel when your children were born?
The first time I held my eldest child I was overwhelmed by love and frankly relief. It was a journey to get him that ultimately involved clomid so to have my baby after the struggle was amazing. His birth was an ordeal (sorry can’t lie it was traumatic) that ended in an emergency section after 2 days of labour. The other two births (last one was twins) were planned sections and a walk in the park in comparison. The recovery from a section is hard but the love for the new little really seems to help with the pain. After each of their births I mostly just felt lucky and I was more confident each time too. We had a tough time after the twins were born as one of them was quite sick initially but fortunately it could all be fixed!
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
The most rewarding thing about being a mum for me is just watching them grow and learn and being part of shaping their future. I love it!
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
This lot make me laugh every day so there are too many really. Some highlights include when I was so tired that I went to work in odd shoes, when my son had a wee accident in a shoe shop whilst trying on shoes – sold! Or more recently when one of the boys fell off his stokke chair. The thud was mighty, I held my breath and was sure he was hurt, then he jumped up with both hands in the air and exclaimed ‘I’m OK!’
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
When I had 4 under 4 I found that very tough. It is easier now but I find handling sibling fighting exhausting and I do struggle with getting anyone to listen to me!
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
I honestly just hope for them to live happy and long lives and that the 4 of them will remain close always
