A swimming trip on my own with our girls

I was so excited to be able to take our girls swimming on my own last week! Not because I didn’t want my husband to come with us, but because as a mum of twins I’ve never been able to taken them on my own before. All of my friends who have one baby enjoy weekly trips to the swimming pool whilst their husbands are at work, but because I have twins I’ve never been able to do to this. Our local leisure centre won’t allow one adult to take two children under the age of four swimming on their… [Read More]

Room on the Broom Live Show in the New Theatre Cardiff

Today my husband and I took our three year old twins to see Room on the Broom in the New Theatre, Cardiff. Room on the Broom is a book written by children’s author, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The show started off with four people camping in the woods. As they got into their sleeping bags and sat upright with their backs to one another they started to drift off to sleep. One of the campers then starts to snore and it soon becomes clear that this is a regular problem the campers have to deal with! The two women… [Read More]

Things I've learnt whilst on holiday

1. Life is short, make the most of it while you still can. Before you know it you’ll be an OAP and unable to do the things you can do now. Appreciate life more! 2. Being a mum is the best, most important job in the world. They’re only little once so make sure every working moment is spent being the best mum you can be. Give your children your undivided attention. Listen to them, play with them, cuddle them. 3. Love your mum body! You still look good even with your mummy tummy! That tummy gave life to two… [Read More]

Yes, I’m that twin mum!

Yup, that’s me! Sitting on the floor with my children whilst you sit on the edge watching your children from afar. I can see you, casting your disapproving glances in my direction. My hair’s wet, because rather than spend the time drying and styling it, I sat with my children and read to them, watched TV with them and talked with them. I’m sorry if my wet hair, dirty jeans and tattooed appearance offends you, but your attitude offends me. Whilst you sit and natter drinking your skinny latte and gossiping, I’m spending time playing with my children. Making sure… [Read More]

Toddlebike Review

We love bikes and scooters! From our twins early days of the walker, through to ride-on toys and first bikes our girls have loved zooming around on them! A Toddlebike however isn’t just another ride on toy! Their compact design with narrow wheels mean that young children can learn to steer and balance effectively at their own pace indoors around the home and then when they’re feeling a bit braver the fun can be taken outdoors! This versatile Toddlebike is durable so it can be taken outdoors on grass, sand, concrete and many other different types of terrains. We were recently sent… [Read More]

Blaze On Fairy Light Review

With Christmas just around the corner what perfect timing to review some fabulously, cute fairy lights from Blaze On! Blaze On was started by Lisa, Blaise and her family. Ten years ago they left their city life behind them and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand. Weeks turned into years and during their time in Thailand they made great friends and had the chance to explore the rich culture. Whilst there they learnt of a more balanced and ethical way of life. Upon their return to the UK, they had an idea to collaborate and take their many talents further –… [Read More]

Grieving definitely doesn’t get any easier

In 2005 mum passed away. She left behind a husband and two daughters. She’d fought ovarian cancer for years. When she passed away people would tell me that this feeling of emptiness, loneliness and great sadness would gradually fade away into a terrible memory. I would get over it. The truth? I’ll never get over it. I mean how am I meant to get over it? It doesn’t make any sense. She was 50 years old. She had everything in front her. I resent elderly people moaning about their lives. You’re still alive! Enjoy it! Make the most of it!… [Read More]

VELCRO(R) Stick On Review – Baby Proofing our Home. Part 3.

Like most parents with young children, I imagine you have probably bought those cushions you can get to stick on the corners of your coffee table.  I have been through two sets already! The first set, my dad bought me and they were little clear, plastic ones with tape you used to secure it to the table. They didn’t last very long. Twin daddy and I were always catching them with our legs and knocking them off. I then bought bigger, foam cushion ones after reading good reviews online. However, when they arrived I was disappointed to see that they were provided… [Read More]

Twins on the move – Uh Oh!

Have you ever sat back and wondered where the time has gone?  One minute your holding your newborn in your arms, the next you’re chasing them around the living room trying to grab whatever it is they have managed to get their hands on and trying to stop them from putting it in their mouths! 9 months! Nearly 9 months old. I can’t believe it. It really has flown by and in some respects I’m glad. I don’t have to try to feed two crying mouths a bottle at once, I don’t have to rock two crying babies at once… [Read More]
