How long does it take you to clean your house?

How long does it take you to clean your house? This is the question I was asked today and the honest answer depends on what type of ‘clean’ I’m doing. My friend who works at Connect Cleaners estimated that it would take roughly 2 hours with a pair of professional cleaners on the job. Here is how I would break it down. I live in a dorma-bungalow so I have six rooms downstairs and three upstairs. Some rooms are easier to clean than others. For example, my kitchen is pretty easy to clean as the surfaces are pretty empty. Most… [Read More]

Daddy do it!

Has anyone else experienced their kids going through a phase of daddy doing everything? I’m not allowed to get them their drinks, pick them up or hold their hands! Don’t get me wrong, it can be great sometimes as it means I can sit back and just be an onlooker on the chaos that’s descending in front of my very eyes, but it would be nice to feel wanted sometimes! You know, just now and again would be nice! This happens mostly when we’re on holiday or when we go somewhere with daddy. We went to Menorca on our first… [Read More]

Protecting Your Children Online

Photo courtesy of tungphoto/freedigitalphotos.net I recently read an article online about how photos of newborns now appear on social media sites within ONE HOUR of their birth. Apparantly two-thirds of parents post pictures of baby less than 60 minutes after birth and 62% of parents post images themselves, whilst other family member post 22%. The birth of Prince George is said to have encouraged 74% of parents to post more photos, with the most popular website to post photos on is Facebook (77%) and Instagram (48%). However, while having twins sounds like a dream come true for many women, there is also a serious side that just gets lost in translation. Having twins can be full of great joy and fun, but such pregnancies carry out a higher risk of complications and in the post birth period, there’s a lot of hard work that needs to be considered. The good news is that with appropriate care… [Read More]

Does it get easier?

I’ve written quite a few posts since starting our blog a few months back and in a few of those posts I have said that I found the first 6 months the easiest. The first month of our girls lives was spent in special care. Now, obviously that wasn’t easy. Suffice to say that was and will always be the hardest, most toughest part of being a parent. At present, twin daddy and I are experiencing another tough phase that many, many parents the world over face…sleep deprivation. It’s used as a form of torture for good reason! Our girls… [Read More]
