A Scottish Adventure

Like many people I have a bucket list. Although, I have to be honest and say that I’m not keen on calling it a bucket list, but rather just a list of things I’d like to do in life. That way if I don’t manage to do them all, that’s ok! I don’t have a time limit on when I plan to do these things, and not even 100% sure that I’ll ever get around to doing them all, but it’s nice to have goals! I have quite a varied range of things on my list. From writing a book… [Read More]

Brecon Careg & Cadw Team Up with Kids Go Free Vouchers!

We’re so lucky in Wales that we have so many places of interest in close proximity to our homes. From castles and ruins, to museums and parks, I love a good day out and if it’s free then even better! This half term we’ve really been making the  most of the good weather and getting outdoors as much as possible. My girls love going to the local park then walking back home by the stream so they can play poo sticks! I think it’s so important to get kids outdoors rather than have the cooped up inside in front of… [Read More]

Cardboard Castle Craft

Our twin girls love crafts as much as I do, and trust me, that’s a lot! Quite often they’ll ask me if they can ‘do crafty things’ or if they can make something.  I even have a cupboard in kitchen which is packed full of crafty goodness from different coloured paints, to glitter glue, pipe cleaners and more! A few weeks ago I had a parcel delivered and my husband asked me if I wanted to keep the box that it was delivered in. It was a pretty nice box so I said yes thinking that I could use it… [Read More]

Historic Places of Interest in and around Cardiff that are Great for Kids!

St Fagans National History Museum St Fagans National History Museum, also known as the Welsh Folk Museum, is located in the village of St Fagans. It’s an open air museum that chronicles the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people (Wikipedia). Best of all St Fagans is free! They’re open daily from 10am-5pm. The site is currently undergoing redevelopment, but the open-air museum and historic buildings remain open (apart from Garreg Fawr, Llwyn-yr-eos). For more information about the redevelopment click here. The main points of focus are to create a striking entrance to welcome visitors. They also plan… [Read More]

Organising a birthday party for four year old twins!

Who would have thought that organising a birthday party for four year olds would be so stressful! R and M started nursery in September 2015 so I was pretty relived that I’d have the chance to go to a few birthday parties before I’d have to start planning our girls party. I was hoping they’d provide me with some information and inspiration about what to do. The first party was in a hall with a lot of children. I think the whole nursery class were invited. It was a joint party so I could understand the amount of children there…. [Read More]

Our Cardboard Castle

This is my entry to the Center Parcs and Tots 100 February challenge. If I’m chosen, I would like to visit Longleat Forest. Tots100 and Center Parcs have teamed up to challenge bloggers to get crafty and think of a fun indoor game you can create as a family, made from things you find around the house. Enter the cardboard castle! I’ve been thinking about doing something like this for quite a while. Mainly because we have a stack of various sized cardboard boxes sitting in our porch waiting to be recycled. I often get a huge piece of cardboard… [Read More]

The Twins Christmas Wishlist

Image courtesy of Gualberto007/Freedigitalphotos.net With Christmas fast approaching I thought I would share with you what we are planning on buying our girls for their second Christmas. They will be 22 months old. Little Tikes Double Up Play Kitchen I’ve always wanted to buy a play kitchen for our girls. When I first took them to our local play group they both headed for the play kitchen! The Little Tikes Double Up Play Kitchen is the same one they have at ply group and although I originally wanted to buy the girls a wooden one, I’ve decided to opt for… [Read More]

A busy week!

Following on from my ‘Can a routine be flexible post’ I thought I would write a little update. I mentioned in that post that I would be taking the girls to the Techniquest Toddler Day. Well, we didn’t manage to go, however we did manage to fill our days with some other activities. I work Mondays and Tuesdays so I like to take full advantage of the rest of the week and try to get out and do things and go places that I think the girls will enjoy. On Wednesday we went to soft play (post all about that… [Read More]
