Our Top Parenting Moments

March 10, 2014
We’ve had some pretty funny moments since becoming parents. We thought we should share with you some of our top parenting moments.

R stuck in a box on her 1st Christmas day!

Milton Eyes

Not long after bringing our girls home from hospital. Twin Daddy decided to clean M’s eyes as they were a bit sticky. However, the night before I had emptied the last of the Milton sterilising solution into a small plastic bottle and left it on top of the microwave in our kitchen.

The following day Twin Daddy went on the search for cotton wool and then proceeded into the kitchen to grab a bottle of sterile water.

Yeah, you can probably guess what happened next!

Twin Daddy cleaned M’s sticky eye with the bottle of Milton. Thankfully, no harm was done and I’ve learnt my lesson about labeling bottles from now on.

A Summer Fall

Last summer I took the girls to the lake. It was a really hot day, the sun was shining and the girls were playing in the park.

Next to the park is a grassy area with picnic benches. I decided it was time to eat so motioned for R and M to come over so I could push the pram over toward a place to sit. R happily held my hand, but M had other ideas and decided to climb into the pram. Ok, I thought so I went to fasten her in, but she didn’t want me to and started fussing. I decided that she would be ok standing in the pram as she was holding on fairly tight and the grassy area was literally a few foot steps away.

How wrong could I be!

As I pushed the pram over the grass, all I saw was M’s legs fly in the air and before I knew what had happened she was lying in a heap on the floor, whilst everyone in the park was looking at me as if I was the worst mother in the world.

M didn’t seem too concerned as she promptly stood and ran across the grass!

Sleepy Daddy

Another incident involving M!

It was bedtime for the girls. Twin Daddy and I were sat alongside each other on the sofa in our front room. I was giving R her bottle and Twin Daddy was giving M hers. It had been a pretty long day and we were both tired.

I could see him dozing off in the corner of my eye, but thought nothing of it.

Suddenly Twin Daddy jumped and I realised that he had actually nodded off mid feed and M almost rolled off his lap onto the floor!

I’m sure we have many more of these moments, but I can’t think of anymore at the moment, so I’ll leave you with this picture of R stuck in her highchair!

These are brill. We have had a few moments…when harrison was about 6 weeks old he was in his Moses basket and I was carrying the basket through to the bedroom, a the biggest spideri have ever seen ran across my foot. I swear it was going to try dragging me downstairs to eat me it was huge! I forgot I was holding the basket and let go of one handle and harrison rolled out! Luckily I was holding it low so it was only from sort of knee height. At the time I was traumatised because I'd dropped him but now we look back and laugh!
