Our family holiday in Majorca. Part Two!
Following on from my last post about our family holiday in Majorca, this is part two!
Day Four
After a busy day yesterday at Marineland, we decided to have a lazy day by the pool today. One of the great things about being on holiday is that you don’t need to get up early or rush to have breakfast. It’s just there waiting for you when you’re ready!
I always love that I can have a bit of a lie in on holiday, because the girls end up going to bed later than usual which means they usually wake up later, so during our holiday I’d been enjoying my 7.30/8am wake up times! I knew I was going to miss those when we returned home!
Breakfast for me today was sausages, beans, hash brown, bacon and toast! M had coco pops with some jam on toast. R wolfed down a couple of croissants and my husband indulged in eggy bread!
Thankfully, the one person who had woken up pretty early that day was my husband. This meant that whilst the girls and I were peacefully snoring in the land of nod, my husband had already been down to the poolside with our towels to reserve us some front row pool-side sun loungers!
I smothered the girls in sun cream, blew up their arm bands, and braved the cold water of the swimming pool!
The girls did go in the splash pool on the first day of our holiday, but they much preferred swimming in the larger pool. Maybe because it was warmer and they could actually swim in it?
Their confidence in the water improved so much during this holiday. Usually my husband and I have to hold the girls in the water at all times, but this holiday turned out to be pretty memorable because our girls learnt to swim!
They were more than happy to jump into the water, even though it was far too deep for them to be able to stand in it, but it didn’t bother them at all! They just kicked their legs with all their might and swam back to the steps where they could stand.
After a few hours the girls were confidently swimming the width of the pool all by themselves. Of course we followed closely behind them.
After all of that swimming, the slush puppies and the ice lollies, the girls were pretty worn out, so we returned to our room around 4pm for the girls to have a nap. They don’t usually nap in the day, but we always let them when on holiday as it means we can stay up longer in the evenings.
I was pleased to see that the clown show, Coco and Charlie, was part of the evenings entertainment again as this was a definite hit with all of us!
Day Five
We had originally planned to spend today at the beach, but the weather was pretty cloudy and breezy, meaning it wasn’t the warmest of days so we decided to stay by the pool again.
Much like the previous day, R and M, loved practising their swimming in the big swimming pool. The night before my husband and I had also bought the girls a foam water pistol each so they loved squirting those at mummy and daddy!
That evening we decided to go on a horse drawn carriage ride around the island, which was lovely.
It lasted around 20 minutes and gave us the chance to see more of the island. We didn’t actually realise just how big the island of Majorca was until we’d been on this trip! The girls enjoyed the ride too!
Day Six
Our last day! I was determined to go to the beach one last time before we left. I wanted to swim in the sea, build sandcastles, bury the girls and their dad in the sand, and just enjoy everything the beach has to offer.
We spent the morning on the beach and did all of the above! We managed to get sun loungers right on the sea front which was superb.
One of the things that I love about going on holiday are the different characters that you come across. There was a lady on the beach wearing a sombrero who was pushing a wheel barrow up and down the entire length of the beach selling fruit. She was very loud and vocal in shouting ‘Coco Loco!’ ‘Ariba, ariba, ariba!’
We spent the afternoon back at the hotel swimming pool. The girls had the chance to enjoy some last minute swimming, plus Thomson dog wandered passed the pool which made for a great photo opportunity!
That evening, after dinner, the girls played in the park and soft play area, before we decided to have an early night as we had to be up at 5am to get the coach at 06:10 to take us to the airport.
Day Seven
Today was probably a good day to leave as it was raining! I don’t think I’ve ever been on an all inclusive holiday where it’s rained before! It was quite strange leaving Majorca in the rain and arriving back to rain in Cardiff too, but we were pretty lucky weather wise all week, as apart from the one cloudy day, we had sunshine every day.
Overall, we had such an amazing holiday! I’ve got so many wonderful memories that I’ll never forget, such as the girls learning to swim, the smiles on the girls faces everyday, our horse and carriage ride around the island and much more!
I wonder where our next holiday will take us!

It looks like you all had a blast! Love the idea of a horse drawn carriage around the island. The beaches are beautiful in Majorca. You have made me want to go back!
