On the third day of Christmas – How becoming a parent has changed the holidays for me!

December 15, 2015
Since becoming a parent Christmases have really changed for me. I remember being so excited for Christmas when I was a kid, but the older I got the more the ‘magic’ of Christmas faded away.

When I became a mum everything changed though! The magic of Christmas came back and I vividly remember the girls first Christmas as though it was yesterday. We didn’t buy much in the way of presents as they weren’t a year old, but we had a lovely day.

We dressed the girls in cute Christmas outfits and I took lots of photos! This year our twins are almost four years old and we have so much planned!

We’re taking them to see Santa in the same place we took them last year, but we’re also going away for two nights Christmas week for a festive break. The girls will also see Santa during this break and again for a third time with their school!

I love the run up to Christmas. Buying the presents, wrapping them and then seeing our girls faces light up! Of course it’s not just about the presents, but about spending time with family too.

I also really enjoy getting our girls to help us decorate our home. They love helping decorate the tree and put the lights and other decorations up. My favourite part is making the Christmas cake together. That moment kind of signifies the start of Christmas for us!

Awww this is cute. My husband is an introvert and finds Christmas and all the fuss excrutiating. I'm thinking our son will help to bring him round. He's already taken him to see Christmas lights and they both had a wonderful time.
