My 2016 UK Travel Bucket List

2016 may be slightly different though. We’re hoping to buy a house, which obviously isn’t going to be cheap and means sacrifices will need to be made. One of those sacrifices will more than likely be our holidays abroad. I wouldn’t not go on holiday, it just means we’d need to do things a bit cheaper so we’d probably have a few staycations in the UK! 

So, without further ado here is my 2016 UK travel bucket list.

Bournemouth

My husband and I have been to Bournemouth once before, many years before our children were born.  With seven miles of beaches and sea, this seaside destination could easily be mistaken for a holiday abroad in the heat of the summer. 

As well as the beach, you’ve got Bournemouth Pier, 2,000 acres of beautiful gardens and parks to explore plus plenty of shops to treat yourself or the kiddies! 

Bournemouth has lots to offer including farms, coastal activity parks and also the historic side such as castles, museums and stately homes. 

Tenby

If you’re a child growing up in the UK then Tenby will be very well known to you! I loved going on holiday caravan holidays to Tenby when I was a kid. I have such fond memories of my sister and I playing tennis together in the caravan park, building sandcastles on the beach, playing on the machines in the amusement arcades and splashing around in the indoor swimming pool! 

Tenby to me is the epitome of a UK seaside town! You have your souvenir shops selling buckets and spades, there are donkeys on the beach and hot chips served along the seafront! What more could you need? I know my children would love Tenby as much as me!

Devon

Devon again is somewhere that we have been as a family, however I think in 2016 I’d avoid a caravan and opt for a nice holiday cottage. I like caravans, but there’s something quite homely about hiring a cottage for a few days, even more so if there’s an outside area for barbecues and a park nearby!

Devon has beaches, amusements and plenty of attractions to keep children entertained. 

The photo above is from our time in Devon back in 2014. It was a lovely clean beach, perfect for kids and when the sun was shining you really would have thought you were abroad!
