Keeping the family warm this winter with Mountain Warehouse
With weather forecasts predicting snow again this year, it’s best to be prepared for the colder weather. That means making sure you keep yourself and your family warm this winter.
Indoors and out it’s important to keep warm. Layering up indoors with long-sleeve t-shirts and jumpers is a must. Wearing socks and a dressing gown in the evenings too can also help to keep the cold out!
When it comes to staying warm outdoors you’ll need a waterproof coat that’s warm and durable.
Mountain Warehouse kindly sent us some winter coats to help keep our family warm. We were sent two Lightening 3-in-1 kids waterproof jackets for our twins.
Our girls will be three in February so we ordered their coats in size 3-4 to make sure they’ll last. We’re planning a short trip to Pembrokeshire in January this year which will involve us spending lots of time outdoors. These jackets will be perfect as they’re fully waterproof with taped seams, plus it has a detachable inner fleece which makes this jacket ideal for the changeable weather.
We chose to have these coats in purple, but they’re also available in dark teal and pink. These jackets fit really well. They have Velcro pockets on the outside so anything that you put in the pockets won’t fall out.
The coat has a zip running up the front, plus it has a Velcro seam which helps to ensure no water leaks through. I really like that the inner fleece can be removed as it makes this coat perfect for when the weather warms up a bit. You can simply undo the zips to take the fleece out and you’d be left with a lightweight, waterproof jacket. It’s a very versatile coat!
We were also sent a Moraine Ski Jacket in black for my husband, but it’s also available in grey. My husband was very pleased with this coat.
He wanted a coat that was warm and waterproof, but not too bulky. This coat is waterproof and has breathable fabric. It also has taped seams so no water can leak through the stitching.
It’s been insulated for extra warmth, but that doesn’t mean the jacket is bulky. It has an adjustable hood and cuffs allowing your ideal fit. It also has a detachable snowskirt and multiple pockets – perfect my husbands wallet, keys and phone.
We think that this ski jacket is great value for money. It’s functional, trendy and looks great.
For myself I chose the Amah Women’s Showerproof Ski Jacket in grey. It’s also available in pink. When it comes to coats I usually buy black, but I fancied a change from this and I’m very pleased with this jacket.
It looks nice on, feels lightweight and is also warm. Designed in a durable showerproof fabric, the interior fleece is lined for extra comfort and warmth. Like my husband’s jacket it has an integrated snowskirt so if you are planning on hitting the slopes this winter it’s the perfect coat for doing just that!
This coat has an adjustable hood, hem and cuff, plus there are also plenty of pockets.

I usually buy my winter coats from places like new look but this year I bought mime from Trespass and it's so much better than previous coats! Hope you have a lovely time in Pembrokeshire! How cute do your girls look in their new coats!? 🙂 xx
