Your indoor lighting is an important element of your household’s interior design and it can turn a young family’s home into a lively and energized place. In order for it all look good you need to make use of a mixture of large decorative lights, and characterless, more practical lights.
The Living Room Comfort-Feel
If you want to provide your living room with that cozy welcoming feeling for yourself and your children after a hard day of work and games respectively, the best type of lights you can use is a traditional covered lamp.
A dimmer LED light is all so useful for ceiling lighting as you will not only be able to adjust it whenever you feel like it but you can also experiment and create different variations of looks for your room. LED lights are quite subtle, which means they won’t be blinding you or annoying you and they won’t require additional covers (although some people seem to think they can cause eye problems). They are suitable for a dinner party, for reading and setting a romantic mood.
Living Room Entertainment Sensation
Entertainment and fun of all sorts is vital for the functionality of a young family and your interior lighting can assist you with setting the right mood. Small lights can color the tiny corners and fractions of walls, which your bigger lights can’t cover (the more different colors and shades you have the better). Use multi-colored lamps to make the unnoticeable remarkable and do not forget your furniture. Think about bookshelves you have and maybe put a small in size but evident color light within the shelves to give that bit of your living room some eye-catching extravagance.
A great idea is to make these places where you usually have fun even more entertaining by using decorative candles to give a room a more antiquated feel. It can look great but you must be careful to ensure that they aren’t used by any young children and fire risks are minimized.
Lighting for Rarely Visited Rooms
The basement in most homes is a zone of loneliness that is neither frequently visited nor used, but with the right attitude it can become a beloved and precious space.
When it comes down to a young family, you can turn the basement into a play zone for your kids, or into your own private working area, or a fitness zone where you go while your children are fooling around in the living room. You will need to literally and figuratively light up the place. Using large, playful ceiling lights can give the space a more inviting look. Furthermore, if you are planning to not use a lot of furniture in the basement, make sure you don’t use a distinct wall color because it will unpleasantly catch your eye every time you step in. Dim the room appropriately and if you want to add an extra wow factor, consider getting a lava lamp for the kids to stare at!

Interesting post, got me thinking about thinks I don't usually think about.
I hadn't really thought about our lighting. I do love a cosy feeling room, will have to have a look at the lampcommerce, or something similar 🙂
I wish we had a room that wasn't used often to turn into a playroom, not so much for now but would be lovely when Osian's older xxx
