Helpful Online Tools for School Children

When I was in school and I needed some extra help with my homework, my first port of call was the school library. Their vast range of textbooks never failed me in my search for the information I required.

Nowadays textbooks are quickly becoming a thing of the past and more schools than ever before are embracing modern technology by introducing tablets such as iPad’s to the classroom.
Of course the internet was around when I was in school, but the only thing I ever remember using a computer in the classroom for was to create a picture using paint!
It wasn’t until I started college that I found out just how easy and useful it was to search the internet for helpful articles, pictures and quotes to aid my education.
Rather than flicking through the index of a few textbooks, I could simply type what I wanted to know into the search bar and hey presto in less than a minute I had the information I needed.
One of the many websites I have found is says that they’re there to help make essay writing quick and easy. You can quickly generate citations, a works cited page and more so that you can focus on what’s really important, your essay! is free to use and after you’ve signed up you can start citing straight away.
A citation is a way of telling those who read your work that certain material came from another source. The Bing dictionary defines cite as: “quote something or somebody: to mention something or somebody as an example to support an argument or help explain what is being said.”
Proper citation is one of the most important aspects of a strong essay or research paper. It gives credit to your original source and demonstrates that you have done proper research. includes support for: books, movies, websites, newspapers, journals and more. One of the things that I love about is that there are templates you can easily fill out to create citations manually.
Textbooks will always be a handy tool to use, but when you have a deadline to reach and need to find something out fast nothing beats the internet!
