Getting ready for Christmas

You may have noticed that I have written quite a lot lately about Christmas and it’s only September! I am a stickler for being organised and I am already planning what Christmas presents I will be buying everyone. This will be our twins second Christmas and unlike their first Christmas I am planning on buying them a little more than last year. Mainly because they will be a little older, but also because I want to get rid of the toys that are too young for them and ideally focus on toys that are more educational. Something that will help teach them something, such as learning to count or the alphabet.

Of course in addition to the presents they will receive from Twin Daddy and I, they will also receive presents from family. We live in a 2 bedroom maisonette and it’s not very big so I am planning on selling some of our cd’s and games for a little extra money, but I will also be having a massive sort through of all their toys and selling the ones that they no longer play with. I wouldn’t say that they have a lot of toys as throughout the year I do try to sell the ones they don’t use to make a little extra room in our home.

One of their favourite toys is their shape sorter. It’s such a simple, classic toy, but it does provide them with a good half hour or so of entertainment, although they can get a little frustrated at times when they can’t find the right hole for the shape!

Another favourite, which is a recent purchase thanks to some gft vouchers I had is their toy strollers. They were a bargain at just £4.99 each! They’re so funny to watch as R loads as many toys as she can into hers and then wheels them about the living room! I did have a little fun with M and actually sat her in the toy stroller, much to her amusement! I really shouldn’t have done this because the wheels were starting to look as though they could cave any minute, but it was funny at the time!

One of the toys I will be selling are two little wooden cars. Well, I say cars, but they look more like those reflexogy wooden rollers you can buy! I bought them for about £2.00 I think, but they’ve never really been played with. Another item I will be selling is a light show box. I thought I would have got lots of use out of it, but truth be told I’ve never used it. It’s amazing that all the toys I plan on selling are quite small, but when added together they actually take up quite a lot of room.
