Fourth birthday presents for our girls

Our twin girls turned four years old at the end of February and they had their first proper birthday party where they invited their friends and some of their nursery class. I knew that this meant they would receive a fair amount of presents so I didn’t want to overboard and buy too much for them. 
 
Luckily we were able to put some of the gifts we’d bought the girls for Christmas to one side for their birthday, as they would have had way too much for Christmas otherwise! 
 

 

So, what did we buy the girls for their fourth birthday?
 
Dress up shoe set from Sainsbury’s – These were great because they also include some costume jewellery and a crown each. Although R loves Spiderman and all things blue, she does love dressing up. When she put the shoes, jewellery and crown on she declared that she looked like the queen!
 
Singing Barbie – I don’t know any little girl or boy who doesn’t love Barbie! This one is a pretty cool rock style, whose dress can swirl around to give her a different look. She’s holding a microphone and singing away to her hearts content! I love that you can also get the Barbie DVD with the same characters in too.
 
Ice cream playdoh set – The girls love playdoh, but I didn’t want to just get them some playdoh pots. I thought this set was pretty cute and I’m sure they’ll enjoy playing with it. 
 
Ben & Holly Castle – If Ben & Holly comes on the TV, the girls will stop in their tracks to watch it! They absolutely love this Ben & Holy castle. The magic wand can be held over the stars to make the bubbles in the bath rise, the treasure chest open etc. Hours of fun!
Unicorn toy – I really like these because they’re bright and colourful, but the girls also like them because they can do the unicorns hair! I considered getting one of those dolls which lets you style her hair and do her makeup, but I find them a bit creepy to be honest!
 
Tiny Tears Doll – Who doesn’t love a doll and when you add the crying, laughing and ‘mummy’ sounds, the girls were smitten! Her cute headband can be removed and she even comes with a bottle, bib, nappy and potty!

Toolbox Toys – We have two of these for the girls. One is a wooden one and one is a plastic, electronic one that makes sounds. It’s actually quite interesting, but the wooden one is definitely the girls favourite one. I can see why as it’s much nicer to look at and has a few more bits and bobs to play with. R loves to hammer and M enjoys using the ‘screws’ to attach the wooden boards to one another.

Games – We bought the girls quite a few games including Pop Up Pirate, Hungry Hippo, Paw Patrol Game, Cupcake Game, Frozen Game. Games are a great way to bring the family together. They’re also lots of fun and help to teach children about taking turns. 
 
Nightlights – The girls have a night light already, but we got two more for them as I think they’re a bit scared of the dark. One is a smurf light and the other is a flower one that projects colourful flowers onto the ceiling. 
 
Lego friends – Who doesn’t love Lego?! I actually bought two of these for one of the girls friends for her birthday, and the girls really liked them so I got them on each too! They’re pretty small sets, but one has a rabbit toy in and the other a dog toy in which R and M seem to really like.
 
Peppa Pig Backpack – I had to buy these because they were a bargain price of £2.95 each! The girls love Peppa Pig and you can never have too many Peppa Pig things!
 
Dora Doll – For Christmas the girls had a Dora & Perrito toy which they really like. We were also sent a smaller Dora Doll so I put them aside for the girls birthday. 
 
Tow Truck Tim – WOW toys are a big hit in our household so when the girls unwrapped this super cool Tow Truck Tim, they instantly wanted to play with it. It’s lots of fun and I love that the two figures included are a boy and a girl.
Winnie the Pooh Toy – Although the girls have never watched Winnie the Pooh on TV, they do have a Winnie the Pooh book which they enjoy me reading to them. They’re both quite taken with Winnie the Pooh, so when they saw this toy they gave him instant cuddles and kisses!


We got the girls a few other presents too, plus they had lots gifted to them following their birthday party. Lots more games, books, craft sets etc, so they’ll be sure to keep us busy for a good while!

Over time Twin Mummy and Daddy has gone from strength to strength. I write about our family life, my love for running and our passion for adventure and travel.  

We’ve also started living a more eco-friendly life. As such I also write about our zero waste journey in a bid to encourage others to think about the impact they have on the environment.

I’m a keen runner and in April 2019 I ran the London Marathon for an amazing charity called WellChild. It’s one of my biggest achievements to date. I raised over £2,000 for the charity and learnt so much along the way.

This year we’re passionate about spending time outdoors. We’ll be sharing our travel, days out and camping adventures right here on Twin Mummy and Daddy.
