Earlier this week, my husband and I attended a school induction for our twin girls. They’re currently in nursery two and a half hours a day, Monday-Friday. However, come September, they’ll be moving up into full time school.
I like to be prepared when it comes to things such as their school uniforms so whilst we were at the induction, my husband and I took the opportunity to look at the uniforms in terms of sizes so that we could place an order for September. The uniform is the same as what the girls already wear, except they now have the addition of a PE kit.
Whilst I ordered polo shirts, jumpers and cardigans from the school, mainly because they have the school logo already on them, I tend to buy their trousers, shoes and pinafores elsewhere.
Debenhams recently asked me if I’d like to review some new school shoes for our girls along with some of their school uniforms and I jumped at the chance!
The girls are always in need of new shoes! They’re forever scuffing them! I chose these super cute Debenhams Girls Black Patent Bow Applique Rip Tape shoes, which are a bargain at just £12.80 (sale price: subject to change).
I love the patent finish on these shoes as they look super shiny! The cute bow detail on the top gives the shoes an on trend look and I like that the inside is a nice shade of pink with silver dots.
These shoes have ‘stay fresh’ technology and have been designed with flexible, slip resistant soles. They’re also scuff resistant – perfect for our girls who love to run and climb!
Overall, I think these shoes are excellent value for money and they’re great quality too. They fit well and are comfortable.
As the current school term is almost at an end, I decided that the uniforms I received from Debenhams would be for when they return in September. For this reason I bought age 5-6 to ensure that come September they’ll fit the girls.
I ordered a girls’ grey school pinafore (£8.00), pack of two girls’ bootcut trousers (£8.80) and pack of two children’s black jogging bottoms.
I love the pinafore, as does M. Although it’s slightly too big for her at the moment, come September I know it’ll fit perfectly. I like that it’s plain as I’m not keen on fussy clothes with too much detail. There’s a zip to the side of the pinafore so it can be put on easily and the material feels like really good quality. Teflon fabric is used so it’s great to repel water, oil and stains.
The bootcut trousers are for R, who has already given them her approval! Inside the trousers, which have an elasticated waist, there is a button which allows you to adjust the waist size.
The jogging bottoms will be great for when the girls have their PE lessons. Although I ordered them a pair of shorts from the school, these joggers will come in handy for the colder months. They’re great quality, have two side pockets and also have an elasticated waist.
Overall, I”m very impressed with the school shoes and uniform available at Debenhams. I was even more impressed with the price!
For the purpose of this review I was gifted the above items. All views & opinions are 100% my own.

I didn't realise Debenhams offered school uniform – I picked up some summer t-shirts at Debenhams this year and was really impressed with the quality and price so I will have to check their uniform out this summer.

School uniform (especially shoes) is such a big expense, and double so with twins. I wouldn't have thought of Debenhams for school uniform but will check it out now. It'll be interesting to see how long those shoes last, you must keep us updated. #triedtested
