Bluestones Wales Review. Day One.
This a very photo heavy post!
I’m currently sitting in a comfy, sophisticated leather sofa in a beautiful Ramsey Lodge at Bluestone Wales.

We arrived in Bluestone around 2pm after a relatively short two hour drive from Cardiff.
We knew that we wouldn’t be able to check into our lodge until 4.30pm, but that didn’t matter because from 11am onward on the day of arrival you can use all the facilities.
As we drove into Bluestone there was a check in point. We were greeted by a friendly lady who gave us our welcome pack and showed us on a map where our lodge was located.
We then drove to the car park leaving our suitcases in the car and made our way to the activity centre.
When we entered the activity centre a lovely lady told us where to find everything.
We went into the ‘Circus’ room first. This room is full of soft play, beams, toys, tents, some Lego bricks and a very cool ‘roller coaster ride’.
The girls absolutely loved it!
Afterwards, we had a wander around the activity centre which is downstairs from the Wild Wood Cafe and Circus play room.
There’s lots of things to do in the activity centre from the climbing wall and bouncy castle to the arcade machines, slides and mini golf!
After exploring all the excitement of their new surroundings the girls said they were hungry so we headed back to the Wild Wood Cafe around 3.30pm for some food.
They serve food until 4pm. We ordered chicken nuggets, chips and beans for the girls which was £4.95 each. A really good price if you ask me and a nice portion size for kids too.
My husband and I had a chicken burger each with chips and salad. This was £7.95 each. Again, a reasonable price for a nice sized serving.
After food, the girls had another go on the bouncy castle and then we made our way to back to the car to go and find our lodge.
There is a barrier which lifts at 4.30pm for everyone to make their way to their lodge. The barrier either closes at 10pm or 12am, I can’t quite remember!
We found our lodge easily, parked at the roadside and then began to unload all of our belongings.
As mentioned above we’re staying in a Ramsey Lodge, which is also known as an ‘upside down house’ because the bedrooms are downstairs and the living area and kitchen are upstairs.
There are two bedrooms. One double and one twin. Both bedrooms have en suites. One of which has a bath and the other a wet room style shower.
We also have a little patio area which has a picnic bench. Great for summer!
I’ll share a picture of the upstairs living area tomorrow as I haven’t taken a picture yet!
It’s a spacious, open plan design with two sofas, a coffee table, TV, dining table with four chairs and a kitchen with toaster, kettle, microwave and oven.
All plates, cutlery, mugs, saucepans and cooking utensils are included.
There was also one tea towel, one black bin liner and one green bin liner provided, as well as some washing up liquid, one dish cloth and two dishwasher tablets.
I would recommended bringing plastic plates etc for children and your own washing up liquid, as well as some bin liners.
There is no washing machine so you might want to bring some washing powder with you so you can wash anything you need in the sink.
Alternatively a laundry service is provided with 48 hour turn around.
The wardrobes in both bedrooms have five hangers in each, so you may want to bring some more with you, but there is also a big chest drawers in each room so there’s plenty of space.
A high chair and travel cot was provided in our lodge. If you need more than one you can pay extra.
We hired a buggy for £40 for the week. This was an offer price as I believe they’re usually more expensive than this.
I’m glad we have the buggy as it’s quite hilly for our girls to walk around.
The girls absolutely love the buggy, but I wish it had some seatbelts!
We went for an evening buggy drive around the resort and had a wander in the village.

Found your blog through Google – we're heading to Bluestone in July so reading with interest. Any age restrictions on the circus room? Hope you have a brilliant rest of holiday!

There's no age limit in the circus room. It's suitable for babies and toddlers. Hope you have a great holiday when you go in July 🙂

aww I love Bluestone. we haven't been since 2009 but I want to go back now after reading this and looking at the photos bring back such good memories. #BinkyLinky
