Bedtime Book Award Project
Over the last month my children and I have been taking part in a Bedtime Book Award Project on behalf of children’s furniture specialist ASPACE.
To celebrate some of the best-loved children’s bedtime stories, we were asked to review a number of children’s books which were specially picked in partnership with online book seller, The Great British Bookshop.
We were sent a lovely package which included ten books, two pairs of pyjamas, a nightlight and a microwavable hottie.
The ten books we were received were:
The Tiger Who Came to Tea
The Jolly Postman
I will not ever never eat a tomato
Would you rather…
I wish I’d been born a unicorn
No matter what
Where the wild things are
The Gruffalo
We’re going on a bear hunt
Pip and Posy: The little puddle
Over the next ten days I’ll be writing individual reviews of each book to give you more of an idea of what we thought about them. In this post our children R and M will be answering some questions about the books we received.

Questions for our twins
1.Which of the books did you like the best?
R: The Jolly Postman
M: I will not ever never eat a tomato
2. Why did you like it?
R: The letters. I like taking them out of the envelopes and reading them.
M: I like Charlie and Lola. I like the funny names Charlie gives the food
3. What was the best bit?
R: The birthday card because it has pretend money in
M: When Lola eats a moon squirter (tomato)
4. Would you tell your friends about it?
R: It has lots of letters and the man on the last page looks like Santa!
M: It’s a funny book
5. Would you want Mummy or Daddy to read it to you again?
Both R and M: Yes
I have to agree with R and say that The Jolly Postman is a terrific book. I’d not heard of it until we received it as part of this project, but my husband had and he even told me that there’s a Christmas edition so I’ll be adding to that to our Christmas wish list!
I will not ever never eat a tomato is a great book and one of the better Charlie and Lola one’s in my opinion. We have one of the books in this range and I’m not hugely keen as it’s just too complicated, but this simple board book is simple, brightly illustrated and has a good storyline to it.

I had forgotten all about the jolly postman until I saw this. I used to love that book x
