AD| It’s Time For A Big Clear-out In Our Home

My children have now been off school since the end of March. This means we have been living in our home pretty much 24/7 with only the occasional day trip out.

The most noticeable thing has been how our home has started to resemble a tip! M children think nothing of taking out toys and just leaving them after they have finished playing with them. I’m sure I’m not alone in this happening!

Something else that has come to my attention is the amount of stuff that we are hoarding and the vast majority of this is total rubbish. For example we have so many toys that my children simply don’t play with anymore. We also have bikes that are far too small for them, or in fact as I recently discovered are broken and need to go in the bin. Why do we hang onto these things?

Looking outside in the garden it doesn’t get any better. There are broken toys laying around and don’t get me started on the borders! There shrubs and bushes that are in desperate need of cutting back. The list is endless. It seems that during lockdown we have put everything on hold and have allowed the rubbish to build up inside and outside our home.

During the rest of the summer I have made a pledge to myself to rid our home of all the unnecessary rubbish that we have hoarded over the last six months. It’s time for a seriously big clear-out. Now is the time to decide what is the best way to get rid of that rubbish.

I went online and discovered that going to our local tip will be very difficult mostly because we would need to make numerous visits. In addition I’d also have to book a time slot so it could take many days and many visits to get rid of it all.

While I was browsing the internet I came across what I think is a brilliant way to get rid of our rubbish. A service called rubbish removal bags from SKIPBAG. What I particularly like about this service how easy it looks to order the skip bags. They come in three different sizes and they are delivered to your door via the post in a flat pack. You then have six months to fill it. That’s a very flexible service in my opinion.

So where to start in our home? The lounge which resembles a toy shop? Most of the toys would be unsuitable for selling as they are broken. The lunge definitely needs a huge clear out from one end of the room to the other. Of course this would be better done when the children are not at home so we can be more brutal and not have children saying please keep this and don’t throw that out!

My next stop will be the garage , and if I’m entirely honest I can’t actually reach the back wall! To get there is like an assault course as I’d have to climb over this, that or something else! As such so I can’t wait to clear out all the rubbish and get some organisation in there.

Next up will be the garden. It seems over the last six months the bushes and shrubs have totally overgrown and are desperately in need of cutting back. There’s also a place down the side of our garage that is full of rubbish such as a broken paddling pool and a wheelbarrow without a wheel.

So over the next few months I will be clearing out all the rubbish inside and outside our home and rubbish removal bags from SKIPBAG will be perfect for the job.
