5* Cork and Dry Wipe Board: A Crafty Review

I’m the type of person that has to write things down either on my phone or on a scrap of paper somewhere so that I remember to do things. This doesn’t always help me though, especially if I lose the piece of paper with my reminder on it!

This board is perfect for me to scribble down my shopping or to do lists on and the cork board side of it is great for me to pin my hair appointment cards and recipes to.

I’ve chosen to hang it in our kitchen, but it would also be a welcome addition to your office or maybe just above your writing or computer desk.

Available here for just £6.87, it’s great value for money. I was a bit dubious about what the quality would be like for this price, but I’m really impressed with it. The wood which is made from pine has a nice, soft finish to it with no sharp edges. The cork is robust meaning it can be used over and again and the pins won’t wear it out and the dry wipe board does exactly what it’s meant to do!

It’s a nice size (600 x 400mm). It’s lightweight and comes with 5 clear pins, a pen and all the hooks etc that you need to hang it up. It would have been nice if there was somewhere to attach the pen to the board, but we solved this by using some Velcro.

You could leave the board exactly as it is because it has a nice, professional look to it, but I’ve decided to decorate ours to fit in with our kitchen’s design.

It actually makes a great craft activity for you and/or your children because it’s not expensive and the materials you’ll need can be found from either things you have lying around your house or in your local supermarket.

To start off with, I decided to paint the wood white. Using two coats and ensuring the first layer had dried completely before applying the second coat.

I carefully selected the embellishments I wanted to use and before painting them I laid them out on the board so I can see how they would look and to make sure I was happy with the ones I had chosen.

I then painted the embellishments and decorated them using some paint pens.

For the purpose of this review I was sent one cork and dry wipe board.
